Home Warranty Company Appliance Repair Contracts In 3 Steps | Appliance Repair Boss

I explain my 3 step approach to contracting with 3rd party home warranty companies. I have signed and negotiated over 20 home warranty company contractors since 2020. In this video I breakdown what I find to be most important during the process of signing up as a home warranty company vendor.

  • @ApplianceBoss

    Hey, I use appliance blue book pricing. For warranty calls its part of what you negotiate. If you have a wholesale account they will provide you a recommended price for each part.

    Does sealed system work justify a higher rate? Some companies avoid warranty calls, and some do it, but no sealed systems. I'm guessing it should demand a higher hourly rate.

  • @ApplianceBoss

    It does but it for the extra time spent and preparation. You can make the same money doing a few dryers as one sealed system

    Just applied for select home warranty and rely. Both sent me packages to fill out. Question is. Are they good companys? Is it a struggle to get payments? I dont want to invest in getting there requirements most insurance policies. And not be worth it. Btw it would be in hvac.

    I am having very bad experiences w service companies. I am trying to find out who is the "bad guy" - the service company or the repair company. I called in the repair and it took five days before a tech visited. He diagnosed the problem but didn't have the part. it's been ten days since that visit and they are claiming they are still waiting for the part. A guy I knew well in the repair biz tells me this is BS. The part in question is widely available everywhere. Obviously either the service company or the repair company is trying to wait me out. Who's to blame? Thanks.

    Usually the warranty company takes a few days to send the dispatch unless you have a priority plan. Each company has different agreements with every warranty company about labor and parts. It could be a combination of delay to report to the warranty company and the warranty company approving or sending parts based on their agreement with each other. I have agreements where I provide parts and some where they provide parts.

    Thank you. It was awesome of you to answer so quickly 😀 . ..A little more info that I shoulda mentioned initially: the plan is designed especially for appliances that are OUTSIDE the warranty period. (Appliances that are not new but need to be less than 8 years old - ours is about 3 years old), Maybe you can tell me mechanically the cause of our trouble . . every two to three months, under normal residental usage, the heating element breaks . . . Everything else works but we get no heat . . . (the part is about the size of a cigar box and has a mess of metal coils) . . . I've also noticed that the top of the dryer itself gets extremely hot to the touch after it's been on for just a few min (even on the "low" setting"). Any idea. My repair guy - the one who doesn't work for the company - is baffled and says he hasn't seen anything like this before) , , , He's actually getting sad about taking my money each time . . . . Ok. Thanks again. i REALLY REALLY appreciate it and will try to help your channel any way that I am able. 🤗🙂😀😎🤓 @@ApplianceBoss

    @@fattymcfatso1083 hey 👋🏾 that is an odd problem indeed, even for an aftermarket heating element. It will only break when it wears beyond its usable point. Is there any other environmental things going on, or extra heat, large swing in temperatures?

  • @fattymcfatso1083

    @fattymcfatso1083

    Thanks. Nothing environmental that i can think of. I think the dryer itself is a "lemon". Maybe something wrong with the wiring? Every heating element fails after a month or so. Even on a "low" setting the machine gets too hot to touch after a few minutes. @@ApplianceBoss
