minute 8:40 expand your concept of who your family is. your community is your family. Give some to your mechanic, your school, your church (if you are religious) give it to some local chefs or have a festival of abundance. The bounty that comes to you when you give of your abundance is immense. Make it an event.

i reckon if backyard growers all grew a massive tree, then we could have harvest parties and all the younger more springy people could climb the trees and harvest the fruits by hand and the older, less agile people can make delicious recipes and keep an eye on the children. Then we can share our bounty with our neighbours and create a culture of sharing. Like that of island cultures. Less work, More play

minute 9:30 the use of john deer tractors in commercial orchards causes soil compaction. This creates a loss of yield. If we make 'harvest festivals' trendy then the young people will do the work for you for free. Have competitions of 'who can harvest the most in an hour.' Instead of the hot-dog eating contest. advertise harvest festival as the place where lovers meet. Companion plant or run sheep or chickens or ducks under your orchard.

minute 6: Set up a free fruit or fruit by donation stall out front of your house. Donate it to the local 'homeless shelter' or 'women's refuge' or 'welfare housing' or 'youth off the streets' or '2nd bite' Get creative.
