It's funny seeing this little harrow in action. At my ranch, we just purchased two 1940s era 6 foot long harrows for the field. Much larger scale but the exact same thing

That was pretty neat. My grandpa when planting grass on new yards used to put nails in boards. He'd then put bags of sand on top then have us drag them all over the freshly plowed dirt. It would smooth out the yard and bring up all the rocks, and clumps of crab grass. It worked pretty good. By the end of the day we were sore as heck though, wish we had lawn tractor back then! Makes for a nice lawn though. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

That turned out pretty good RK. I do landscaping for a living a couple of words of advice if you don't mind. First of all al lot of what I was seeing was weeds and not grass Crabgrass and quackgrass mainly along with a few other weeds. i have found over the years to get your best kill with roundup or the generics is to spray it then come back 3 to 4 days and spray it again yes spray it TWICE!!! Use your homemade harrow or what ever you want to use but get all the dead grass up!!! Then your not going to want to do this next step but it will make a big difference rent a core aerator and aerate the area good lots of holes 2 to 3 inches deep then put out your seed and a good starter fertilizer I recommend not putting straw down because it will be full of weed seeds and you will end up with a lot of weeds again. Keep the watered damp not soaking wet and it will come up beautiful if you want some recommendations on some good seed let me know I can tell what to use and where to go get it and it will be cheaper than the box stores. I have been doing this for a total of about 15 years. Have a great day. God Bless!!!

It looks like they planted a bunch of weeds to be honest. It'll hold the dirt in place, but like you said it doesn't make for something you want to have as a lawn. I think having a pool is like owning a boat...the two favorite days of ownership are the day you get it and the day you get rid of it. :>)

Hey roadking, I just got a free craftsman self propelled push mower and it needs a new connecting rod cap. where can i find just the cap? and could I use a cap from another mower/engine? im looking at all these different models but they all look the same. my question is if say the crankshafts are 1", would similar connecting rod caps fit the same? specifically can I use the rod from a troy bilt 1T65RU to fit on my 5X65RU?

Jeffrey Murdock yes! Front and rear seal blew out and so much dirt got into the engine #1 wrist pin completely seized and put a nice groove at top left cylinder. Cam bearings came apart and look like small shims they litterally seperated into layers couldn't even pull the cam out without a punch. and hammer. Pulled all the bearings for it out and have a new cam and bearings to go back in.

@@Sasquatchadventures1 wow. I had a 69 pickup my dad gave me that was a 3 on the tree converted to 3 on the floor. It had the 300 in it and that thing had plenty of power. I wound up getting rid of it because the starter literally fell apart on me at the same time the oil pump failed seizing the engine. I was driving in the freeway when it happened and the oil light didnt come on and there wasn't soil pressure gauge on it. I regret getting rid of the truck. Should have kept it.
