Home In Wall Pest Tubes DIY injection part 3

Many newer homes have pest control tubes installed inside the walls. Normally, companies charge $30+ per month to inject pesticides into these tubes but you can do it yourself for almost nothing.
Part 1 shows you how to locate and access the injection ports.
Part 2 demonstrates how the tubes work inside your walls.
Part 3 shows you how to inject pesticides into tubes for pennies.
You can use any pest control spray found at local hardware stores for ants, spiders, roaches and dozens of other insects. Each tube only needs 5ml and lasts ~3 months.
A 5 liter jug costs $8 so 5ml costs less than 1 penny and 5L can fill 1000 tubes!

I used these people the first 2 years in a new home . It cost me over $2000 and on a fixed income I no longer could afford it. After each "treatment" the house was infested and I had to treat the inside of the home for weeks after "treatment". Their product just pushed the bugs into the house not kill them. I had to close all outlets with plastic tabs and put borax and baking soda all around the baseboards, it was always a mess because my house is very large. I haven't used them for 3 years and I have no pest problem inside. Not sure about the inner walls but now that I see how to do a simple treatment I will try it. what do I have to lose? I lived in a house for 30 years without tubes in the wall and didn't have a problem.

That’s what I am scared of that everything inside the walls is going to come out because I live in bug city SW Florida. I have this system but never have used it and my house is about 14 years old, I’m just wondering if the lines are still good after sitting so long at least if I try this myself it won’t be no loss vs paying the actual company to come out and fill the tubes.

@@sharoncortes36 That doesn't make sense. I don't think insecticide works by pushing bugs away, but by killing ones that are close, and then providing residual poison on those which travel through the treated areas.

Would a much larger bodied syringe with maybe a bent needle work better? You would hold it up push in the liquid followed by the remaining air in the larger syringe eliminating the need to pull the plunger out and maybe get pesticide on you or something you don't want. Then it would be a simple two step process, fill and apply air pressure. Just my two cents...

Bent needle might not work, it might puncture the tube near the opening, ruining the pipe, may be.

All these systems clog. pest control companies use tempo sc, but over time it builds up in the tiny holes in the lines. they use these as a way to get a new customers from builders and they always fail in short order. It is just a sales gimmick. Honestly why would anyone want to put a liquid into the insulation of a home where mold and mildew can form/grow is beyond me.

Just another scam like the termite bait stations. At best the area treated is 16 inches between wall studs times the 4 lines. These guys get big bucks to install it and money to service regularly which takes only a few minutes. I love the part where he says "and your done" because that is the most important part of the job to him.

I love this!! This guy is publicly videoing himself breaking at least 2 laws that I'm aware of AND ruining his own system and possibly putting his own family at risk. Law 1: The system he is using is fully patented and cannot be treated by anyone other than the patent company. Law 2: The product he is using from home depot "Ortho Home Defense" is not federally labeled for use in the tubes. All pesticides in US state: DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. He is using compressed air, which will in very short time clog the tubes because of the moisture it creates.. The patent company uses 100% dry nitrogen ONLY. It's much more expensive than a home depot air compressor. The patent company pressurizes at 400 psi .....NOT 150 psi. As the tubes clog, this homeowner will continue to treat the tubes unknowingly and the pesticide will pool in the walls, possibly creating moisture problems (mold, mildew etc) and maybe more importantly...will never make it to the intended areas to prevent pests. This is the same type of guy that cuts corners his whole life and wonders why nothing ever works out. SOURCE: licensed tech for patent company

    1. How is he breaking the first law if the tubes are in his property? Legally, another company can't do it, but he can (as long as he is not selling the service). 2. Use what the pros use then, Tempo SC, you can get about 240mL for about $35 More than cutting corners is empowering the people, if you're the type of guy that can spare some time to do it, good for you. If you have the money and don't want to get your hands dirty pay a licensed company to do it. What I hate about this system is the secrecy behind it even though is in the walls of your home. This is a great blog post by The Bug Doctor pestcemetery.com/tubes-in-the-wall/

ranger78753 There is no longer a patent on fixed injection systems. It was developed in the early 90s and you have 15 years max for the exclusive rights to it. After that you have to compete like everyone else.

You are a liar and you are jealous this guy is not paying you $30 a month. What the guy is doing in the video is 100% just as safe as what you pay someone $30 to do. Also, there is no valid patent on plastic tubes. You are a moron. The homeowner owns the plastic tubes and can do their own injection if they want to. It is 100% legal.
