So I saw this performance and I thought Nick Lachey was exaggerating when he said that the floor shook. Then I saw them live in concert. NOT AN EXAGGERATION! Three of their five members can go low enough to shake every seat in the venue: Tim, Chance, and Adam. It's incredible. I love this version but I also love the version with Avi because it shows the depth that having 2 basses offers and I think it influenced their decision when Chris left to go with someone who could cover Tim when he sings lead.

Totally agree. I've seen them twice and the floor actually rumbles. I have also noticed that in the past year that there have been a number of songs like Folsom Prison Blues where Tim and Chance share the lead while the other one holds down the bass.

According to their published ranges, AUSTIN has the second-lowest voice. He doesn't use that part of his range very often for fear of hurting himself.

You're absolutely right, this is the best version of Ring Of Fire because Tim's amazingly fantastic bass is on full display here. The arrangement is so beautiful. Austin's voice as a counterpart to Tim's bass is great and Adam's beatboxing as always is absolutely unique. The live version is one killer. Another good reation from you, thanks!

They had such swag in this one. It's also a half step lower than their video with Avi, so Tim is hitting an F#1 live.

This is one of the numbers that it important to know a couple things about. First, Tim refers to the 5-octave range as 10% natural talent, and 90% work. His voice dropped his senior year of high school, and he works almost every day to maintain the tenor range. Second, Austin had only been singing with the group for about 6 months when they auditioned for the Sing Off. He literally jumped ship from performing on a cruise ship where they met him to join the band. The chemistry that developed in that short time was and is phenomenal.

I've watched this performance too many times to count and it never gets old. The judges' reactions are fantastic. Thank you for your reactions to Home Free!

I just wish the judges had mentioned Rob & Chris because they're both amazing too! 😞 It takes all 5 of these incredibly talented INDIVIDUALS to make Home Free the incredibly talented GROUP they are!😲🤩

I don't think the show was interested in much more than Austin & Tim as soloists and Adam as beatboxer. I don't think they mentioned Chris Rupp at all & have heard that they didn't want Rob to sing the lead in Colder Weather. Our boys stuck to their guns and did it how they wanted.. Great reaction.

I agree, I love this version too! I don't know if it's just me but Tim's note at the end was so low I almost can't hear it I your video! Lol. Btw, Voice Play is on this season of The Sing Off too!

The thing that kills me every time I watch this is that you KNOW the judges had to be expecting that bass drop and it still shocked them! The look on their faces is priceless! I'm loving your reactions! Thank you! ❤

Yup, my 18th HF concert still had me blown away when he drops his bass. But then again, all of them blow me away in their own way - individually and together - every single time because it's hard for the mind to comprehend such talent.

I honestly didn't like Honey all that much, and Geoff didn't get showcased like he should have. He and Tim would have battled for the lowest bass notes!

I have seen Home Free many time live and when Tim hits that low note, your seat freakin rattles. You feel it from your head to your toes. It is absolutely insane!!! They have video out there where he blew out the speakers with his low note.

If they didn't win after this.......something would have been very very wrong. That last note.....yes.

I'ma point out the official video for "Your Man" is live, but that's not the one being requested. The stage / concert version of Your Man has a cute little schtick in it and Tim does some amazing vocal gymnastics. The official video on Home Free's page doesn't have these. If you want to do the official version, please *also* react to the concert version in the same video, or we will all be sad that you missed out.

They sing this at every live show. When Tim hits the low notes, you really do feel the bass in you butt!!!

They have improved so much since being on the show, I would love for them to show off again on a national level like this with Chance covering for Tim and Adam even crazier with the percussion!

Oh I get that but the statement is true - I’m not watching the season or the full shows … so I don’t know who is on there and it’s irrelevant for the purpose of these reactions. I’m just watching home frees performances.

Tim really laid it all out there so that Home Free will not be forgotten. Travis since you are following them from the past to the present have you noticed that Tim is wearing earrings, something he no longer does, Austin has no facial hair & Adam has facial hair. You are absolutely correct the judges have pretty much select Home Free & they continue to present themselves as being worthy winners throughout the show. Great reaction.

when I saw this on the sing off, that not was so low it didn't even register on my TV all I heard were the judges reactions. I had to turn on our subwoofer and it rocked a picture off my wall. I still LOVE this version

I have to agree ... This was the 1st they performed the song; LIVE and RAW ... can appreciate the studio version but this one take the cake and then some. And, with this performance, Tim goes lower than he did from the official vid .... ---- Now, for what they do with it LIVE in the shows after (to current), ummm ... no words to explain that experience other than ---- "No Way" and "How". Yep, there are vids of LIVE shows by fans -- it's true! BUT to feel it; your heart rhythm changes due to confusion ... is a whole other thing!!! Just Sayin'

I said the same thing about them clinching the win with this one, even back when the show was actually aired. I just knew they would win (or should, and did) after that performance. Speaking of this performance, they sang it here in a slightly lower key than the official video with Avi. While I do love the video with Avi, I have always been more partial to this version. When you said it had had an island sound, I was waiting for you to hear what Jewell said about hearing an A Capella Country Reggae sound, I knew you would like that! You might want to check out one other group from this season four, Vocal Rush. They are from a performing arts high school - and are amazingly talented. I will say that as the season proceeded, Home Free pulled ahead and became the act to beat, but at the beginning it was not quite so absolute. But Vocal Rush's first two performances were really, really good.

I too prefer this to the official version with Avi. I love Avi's voice, and the point of the official video was to use Avi, who was of course more known at the time, as the honey to attract more bees to Home Free and it worked. But this is still the best version. I'm also not a fan of when they do it in the live shows. Not because it's bad, but they don't do Austin's part and it's the best part of the song to me, especially since Tim drops the bass several times during their shows. Loved the reaction! Thank you! 🥰🙏

Okay here is the thing everybody who dislikes the Avi version who are apparently not part of the crossover fandom of Homefree and Pentatonix. No one said we can't like both or can't like the FIRST version a lot of us heard by watching The Sing Off more. As far as Matt Atwood goes - it was his own choice to leave. Please go read the article entitled A Full Circle Passion: Matt Atwood and find his side of things and why he left. They called him to be with them on the sing off; he said no. They have had him do songs with them onstage if he's been at a show too. He was with Chris and Adam a long time, they didn't just forget him. Most all the videos we see come after their Sing Off days when he'd already made the decision to not be touring and stuff.

VoicePlay was actually in this season, too. I like Home Free better, though.
