After that breakdown/bridge, they launch "Said the King....Listen to what I say!" That line passes from Tim, to Chris, to Rob, finally to Austin, and they cover 5 octaves! AWESOME!

Definitely one of my favorite Adam Rupp arrangements. It's brilliant. The way they have this entire conversation. They did it with "Mary Did You Know" as well . But this is one of my favorite songs to not be a fan of during the holiday season. (There are some really dull versions). I listen to this version twice almost every time because it's fascinating! I enjoy the song but am nerding out over how technically great this thing is too.

Many things to love about this group aside from their incredible harmonies, but two I really enjoy are how generous and supportive they are of each other, letting everyone have a turn to shine and supporting them with incredible backup harmonies; and also how they can take a song you know and, like this one, might have heard many, many times over the years and they make at once still recognizable, but also give it their own very distinctive twist to make it feel fresh and new.

Rob is my favorite, too. Such vocal balance and agility! He is a Tenor not a baritone. He's officially their "lead tenor" and Austin is their "high tenor". (Adam Rupp is a tenor whose voice falls a little between both Rob and Austin, BTW)

I found Home Free at the very beginning of the Covid mess. God’s word, their music and their videos have kept me going and I will forever be grateful. Thank you for your reactions! I am a real Home Fry from the Netherlands. Your responses are great. I totally understand you when you talk about Home Free. Each member has their own sound and that is what makes them so special. I believe that when they sing the Christian songs, the angels are listening swooning. Especially when Rob's singing with his angelic soulfull voice. They are good individually, but best as a group. By the way Chris solo career is also worth listening to. He is a versatile musician, singer and songwriter. Merry Christmas to you all!!

Rob is a tenor like Austin not a baritone. Chris is the baritone. Having said that..ALL of these guys have incredible ranges. Voiceplay is 2nd on my list of A Capella groups. Home Free is always first.

Chris Rupp is a TENOR, the Baritone/Bass is TIM FOUST WHO HAS A 5 OCTAVE RANGE. Tim can sing from Tenor to Bass including Baritone.

I am a huge a cappella enthusiast! You're running down this rabbit hole- I'M IN... I'm a hardcore Home Fry & Pentaholic (PTX or Pentatonix) PTX is another a cappella group to blow you away! Been a big fan for years of both. This is a very very very deep rabbit hole! This was arranged by Adam Rupp - which is one reason the beatboxing is so amazing! I read that they don't use Adam's arrangements a lot because they tend to be very complicated! I got to hear them perform this live 3 weeks ago (12/2). Same arrangement. No ice castle but still amazing. This is one of my favorites. Another older one that will pretty well take you to church is "Children Go Where I Send Thee" with the late Kenny Rogers. You can't sit still listening to that one! Enjoy your reactions. Devin, even earlier, it was Christ's Mass as it was the Roman Catholic Mass said on December 25th every year. Devin please consider reacting to Home Free's latest....a Stevie Wonder cover that is also HILARIOUS but great music....it's his 1967 hit, "what Christmas means to me"....it's short but Rob even brings out his Gospel Rob voice !!!!

This is by far my favorite HF song. I listen to it all year. I was lucky enough to see them a few weeks ago for the first time. They did this song and it was just as phenomenal live. My body rattled the whole song. Adam's beat boxing hits as hard as any metal drummer. If you get a chance, go see them! I'm so excited to see them again in March! Have a Merry Christmas!

Are there other good a capella groups out there? Yes. But Home Free is my absolute favorite. There's just something about their combination of outstanding skill, willingness to be silly at times, and being personable. As you said, each of them brings enough talent to be a star on their own. But they are all together in one fantastic group.

The Christmas songs are fantastic. For a real treat, buy and listen to Tim's new album.. Pieces of Me. He sings all the parts and then layers them to create the best Doo Wop album ever! He is truly talented, and his range is between 5 and 6 octaves.. one of a kind!!

Just subscribed because of your statement that no one can top Home Free. I'm so sick of hearing how great PTX and Voiceplay are. Home Free is the best and soooo under listened to. Some reactors need to get their acts together.

I am a big time Home Fry. They are the bomb. Tim is the bass, Austin is first tenor and Rob is second tenor, Adam Chance is actually a bass but sings baritone and Adam Rupp, founder of the group is the beatboxer. You must also listen to Pentatonix. Amazing Grace is beautiful and their Daft Punk medley is lots of fun. Their 90's dance medley is off the hook. Run To You is also beautiful. You may also enjoy Voiceplay. Those are the big 3 acapella groups right now. You must also check out Voctave. Oh Come All Ye Faithful is one of my favorites. Now the big 3 names as far as bass singers go are, Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix), Geoff Castellucci of Voiceplay and Tim Faust of Home Free. All of these bass singers are basso profundos (very deep bass singers). Geoff has some solo stuff out so check out his version of Blackbird or God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Be blessed.

The other group is Voice Play... and they are super talented. They have a different style. All three groups have their own unique style and sound, but are equally talented. Voice Play does more of their own support work - they arrange, often handle the lighting and editing, as well as makeup and costumes (when used). Voice Play's bass is Geoff Castellucci and, like Tim, he has a 5 octave range. In fact, he has incredible music on his solo channel in which he does all the vocals. He also arranges, edits, films and produces his own videos.

I just found you from your Cody Johnson reactions. I loved how you tied God’s word into Cody’s songs in your commentary. Because of this, I think you should listen to his song called “By Your Grace.” I think you would love the song and the message it brings
