Homefree is AMAZING 👏 You get to hear Chris Rupp sing in this.
I've never heard a better beat-box and percussionist and instruments' creator in any a capella group anywhere. He's very talented at what he does.
Adam Rupp!! 2 time world beatboxing champion!!!❤
That "wha, wha, wha" sound was an Austin Add lib. In the video you can se him cup his mouth when he does it.
Tim’s subbass on this one plus Adam’s beatboxing 🔥. Adam arranged this one too! That is a ice castle ...
This is my favorite version of this song, Adam's arrangement & his beatboxing alone makes it amazing, & then the guy's harmonies make it spectacular in my opinion, can't wait to play it over & over starting now through Christmas, & even afterwards!!! 🎶❤️🎶

Absolutely BEST version EVER!!!!!this became my favorite Xmas song after hearing their rendition.and I'm not really into the Xmas songs I typically hear...this is such an amazing version, its anything BUT typical!!totally fire vocals!!🔥🎀🎶
This is usually considered a Christmas song. It just happens to be my favorite! Love Home Free!!
This beautiful masterpiece is on my Christmas play list as well as my regular Home Free play list. It's too pretty to save just for Christmas. Adam doesn't arrange often, but when he does. Wow. What they can do with their voices is almost supernatural.
Adam's arrangement!! Epic!❤
Listening to this with headphones on is BEST! All the subtle sounds Adam built into this masterpiece come through. Tim's lowest note on "GOLD" at 3:41 rattles the speakers. And then there's the FIVE OCTAVE run of "listen to what...I say!" at 4:40. Yeah, 5 octaves! And they were COLD out there! So glad *Sing Off* made them the winners.

Headphones work way better than the ear buds for sure to hear just how low Tim goes ...
I’m surprised Tim (bass) didn’t bring down the ice castle with his bass. Goodness. This was the beatboxer’s (Adam) arrangement. So good and so creative. Good reaction Kingdom.😍

@@snowflakehunter I've been live. that's most definitely them. I'm certain they have some classical training because that's the only way you can touch those bass notes and still do the high on Mayday and do the crazy solo stuff he does. He can get up into my range, and I'm a full on soprano. How much he can keep it clean up there, I'm not sure because he generally leaves the super high to Austin and Rob, but no. No faking here, just a little reverb. and it's glorious. :)

@@snowflakehunter true, but they don't use that for the little party things they do. and even still, if you don't have the range, I wouldn't think there's a lot compression is going to do for you.
When you are looking for something energetic and fun check out Home Free covers/creations "Can't Stop The Feeling" and "Hillbilly Bone". For something deep "In The Blood".
That unexpected Stevie-esque key twist around 3/4 in.... proper chef's kiss stuff! It's shocking that an a capella group managed to turn this into a total *bop* They are just *so* good. :)
Yes! I love Christmas in July! ❤🍟

Darren also has Lil snippets in "God Bless the USA" with Lee Greenwood, and in the video "God Blessed Texas", & a cpl others. But "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" is just spectacular! 🤗🥰🥰
Really so good and beautifully arranged video by Adam Rupp. How great does this sound? It is truly magnificent!!! One by one the members are really incredible. And then also the ice, the environment. And even if it's summer, I can play it every day
This is one of my favorite Christmas hymns. The Home Free version of it is stellar. What a wonderful interpretation.
Harmony heaven !
Fire 🥰
Best version ever!
This was when Chris Rupp was there. This is before Adam Chance.. There is a video in which Adam describes and demonstrates how he lays down his track. He does seem under appreciated but not by us old time Granny Fries. Love that you are finding their wonderful music. This Granny group has followed them to Alaska. I love each. Each is immensely talented and each is equally necessary for their music. Five guys come into the venue with mics and fill the place. Just them. Each has his own part. There is no auto tune or instrument.
IMHO the greatest version of this holiday song, ever, and I've heard a lot of different versions. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, put this song together, and did a helluva job.
This has always been one of my favorite Christmas Carols.💗💗💗💗
This is the most beautiful version of this song. Adam Rupp arranged it.
Without Adam Rupp there would be no Home Free his brother Chris supports this he is probably the most underappreciated member of Home Free and this arrangement is just more evidence.
You should watch the outtakes at the end of the song. They often talk about who arranged it. In this case Adam Rupp (The Beatboxer) arranged it. It's just so good. The song is not original. It's a Christmas carol. Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and many others have sung it. Pretty sure even David Bowie sang it. (Not sure tho.) This song is a good example of the Genius of Adam Rupp tho. Video was on location in an Ice castle at like 14 degrees or something. The breath you were seeing is theirs.
Sing it brother you in God's house it's all beautiful. God bless you and yours God bless the USA
Great reaction! I love to see you really enjoying the music!❤️😊
“Said the King to the people everywhere ….. pray for peace everywhere” a song for our time. A song for all time. Nice reaction. I love this setting. Majestic!
The sound you are wondering about is Austin making guitarsounds remember they all beatbox a little check out a live video called -- 9 to 5 beatbox breakdown
Adam Rupp the beatboxer is making all them sounds :) beautiful arrangement of this song! Great reaction! I love Home Free😊
They are something else pure talent ..this was so beautiful thanku so much ..You are fabulous much love an God bless always x
Great audition! 😂 You asked how that, sorta kinda, guitar sound was being made towards the end... That's Austin. If you look closely, you'll see he has his mouth cupped by his hands to muffle the sound a bit. He makes that sound in a lot of their songs. It's usually deep in the background though and not as easily noticed. Most recently, it can be heard in their recent "Listen To The Music", right after the breakdown. Chance (not in this video), also makes a great guitar sound.

I was going to say the same thing: Austin with the guitar sound. Adam makes so many amazing sounds that it's easy to forget what special effects the other guys can make. Like Chance with the mouth harp sound in Man of Constant Sorrow, and whatever he's doing in Can't Stop the Feeling.

I never particularly liked this song before but this rendition has become one of my favorites. Adam should be proud that he could arrange a song that completely changed people's opinion of certain music. I now listen to this about once a week just because it's so beautiful and unique.

It's the same with Mary Did You Know which their rendition is now one of my favorites. I love the way they did these songs where as I never really liked the way other people did them. Now if they can do the 12 Days of Christmas and make me like that song that's REALLY saying something because of all the Christmas (and I love Christmas music) THAT'S the song I hate. They have an amazing version of Angels We Have Heard on High that not many people react to. It's an older one, but the arrangement is incredible!
Your audition would go viral on American Idol
CHILLS!!!
It's been a bit since I've heard this, and DANG IT! I forgot how great this was!!! 😳
That "wa wa wa" that Austin was doing sounds to me like a guitar with the old school "wa wa pedal" on it.
So good! { Did they get jealous of PTX in THEIR cave when they did 'Mary Did You Know'? } 😆 Love Home Free's version BTW 😍
That sound you were wondering about, that’s Austin.
The sound toward the end you were wondering about was Austin. No idea how he does it though.
Austin is making that sound near the end you were asking about, you can see him covering his mouth in the video, so I guess that is how he did it in the studio with his high pitched voice.
You should hear there version of End of the Road by Boyz II Men they pay good respect to the classic song
The electric sound you mentioned is from Austin, if you look he has his hands infront of his face while making it
Adam and Tim together legit make you think you're listening to a bass guitar and a trap set, no joke. o.O
If they offer a follow-up to their songs, there will always be good information. In this case, that Adam arranged this one and where it took place.
Adam Rupp is the beatboxer is the best.
It’s an old hymn. Not a clue who first recorded it. My first recollection is Perry Como when I was just a little girl.
Conrads, not many reviewers have listened to this song, definitely their loss. It is absolutely brilliant!

Actually, his is NOT the "real one" - not by a long shot. It just happens to be your favorite and that's fine. 😉👍 It was released in 1962. Originally recorded for Mercury Records by the Harry Simeone Chorale, a group that had also popularized "The Little Drummer Boy", and released as part of the album The Wonderful Songs of Christmas with the Harry Simeone Chorale. Bing Crosby made the song into a hit when he recorded his own version of it on October 21, 1963. There have been 100s of covers over the years (including your favorite by Mathis)...everyone from Perry Como to Glen Campbell and from Mahalia Jackson to Whitney Houston! The more you know... 🌈
