Rob's tone and pronunciation are beyond impressive. He normally has such a bright tone, but this was deep and spacious in that way that great opera tenors have, that makes the listener forget how high these notes really are.

@@MC-fj3zz while it didn't "suck" per se, it's not that exceptional either. they may be good singers (the glasses one has better control), but this particular style of music is composed with some very specific techniques, styles and execution in mind; Think of a formula 1 car but instead of E10 fuel, you use moonshine. yeah it may start and even move a bit, but not to it's full potential. Same here, they are maybe giving it their best, and for people who are not used to this kind of music, it may sound allright..... but if you have any ammount of experience on this, you will quite literally cringe at how the arrangament was made a mess, how they butchered the language, and call a _vendetta_ on the individual who thought it was ok to use of auto tune for this kind of music.

Austin doesn't really have the training tho. Yes he has done som theatre and whatnot but thats stil a long way off proper opera. Nicely done, dudes. And just goes to show, most of us like all kinds of music, not just country or not just classical or whatever. My personal tastes run all over the map. Back in the 60s, when we only had two popular music stations in the Twin Cities, they both played all kinds of music: rock and roll, folk, country, show tunes, opera (yes, Pavarotti did do some music on the charts!), as well as novelty tunes. Made for a much richer listening environment than today's programming, where one now has to change stations repeatedly to get a well rounded play list.
So different from what you normally sing. Absolutely moving. So well done. Love that you are stretching yourselves- and not getting stuck in one genre. An amazing performance. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Your collaboration with the Giants of today and days past are sooo well done and so good for the soul. I think your innovative and generous supply of videos, especially early on in the pandemic quarantine helped bring everyone through it a bit stronger and more stable minded. I cannot say enough good about everything you guys have done..... BUT... This is another level of unexpected bliss! Nessun Dorma, sung by Calaph in the 3rd act of Turandot. It's been made famous to worldwide audiences by essentially being the signature song of Maestro Luciano Pavarotti and showcased in the 3Tenors series of concerts around the globe as an encore in addition to part of Pavarotti's program...all of which, now, I'm sure you know...but forgive my rambling, as I cannot believe what I just saw and heard. I'm an opera nut, and this has been MY favorite aria....probably favorite piece of music since July of 1994. I own nearly 100 different recordings of it. I learned to play it on piano, I've been singing it for 25 yrs. It's borderline a mental problem with me, the level at which my love for this piece resides. Then in the morning after a sleepless night...I'm going through KZread...and what do I see Rob: and Austin Nessun Dorma!?!? I couldn't believe it and had to watch! I've watched a handful of times now. Tears flowing every time. Thank you so much for recording this. Let me tell you...you two SANG this...there was no try. IT Was Wonderful! God Bless!

One of my very favorites and these two sing it beautifully. There's no reason country singers can't also be classically trained. In fact, I wish more were. Vocal training is for all! I love singing many genres, it's nice to hear others "voice shift" as well.
Oh my goodness, it's lovely! I could sit and listen for hours 💙💜💙💜
I don't listen to country music so I don't know who either of you are, but I love "Nessum Dorma," and listened to hear how you'd do. Beautiful rendition!

Hey Austin, I appreciate you bringing some of the other Home free guys out to explore some new arenas, we knew Rob had a great, versatile voice but this was outstanding, THANKS!
More, more please. I literally have goosebumps. Had no idea you were so well schooled. Please incorporate more classical pieces and bring this incredible sound to those who hunger for it and those who have never been exposed to it. A hundred thank yous.

OMG...this is such a surprise! "Nessun Dorma" is a favorite aria for a lot of people, myself included. To hear country singers tackle such an aria and nail it to the wall the same way you'd win a game of darts in a bar brought tears to my eyes. I'm also dealing with some toxic people in my life, and it's been draining the hell outta me, to say the least. So hearing the famous ending had me 😭😭😭).
Wow ! Just wow ! I have always loved Pavarotti singin this , but Austin and Rob, you knocked this out of the park !!!! Gave me goosebumps 💚
Holy cats! You guys have beautiful voices and were perfectly matched for the music sung. Hope to see you someday in a full-length opera. Not the country music type, more a Travelling Wilburys fan, but I LOVE Italian opera. Sing on. In the meantime. how about some more of these operatic videos.
I've been so excited for this ever since I saw you guys in suits and immediately thought OPERA. The only thing I can think of to say is: BRAVO!

Beautiful! Proved the technical accuracy of your singing regardless of the style of music. Love you guys (all of the Home Free group.)
Rob and Austin absolutely nailed it. I could literally listen to this version and Pavarotti on repeat for the rest of of my life. Nessun Dorma still gives me chills. ❤❤❤❤ Exceptionally Well Done, Rob and Austin!!!! BRAVO!!!
I know very little about opera, but this was stunning! If ever there was proof that music is the universal language, this is it! I have absolutely no idea what they just sang about, but I still had chills and tears rolling down my face! Honestly, to all the men of Home Free, your talent knows no boundaries and I'm here for all of it! ❤

Basically, Nessun dorma means "Let no one sleep". They are trying to win the heart of a princess who has the tendency to chop off the heads of their suitors, if they cannot answer her riddles.

There were and are many better singers than Pavarotti. Pavarotti was great but he is always overrated because he was the most popular opera singer for mainstream audience. If we're talking about older opera singers, Corelli sang this aria the best.
