HOLYFIELD "RAMS" RAHMAN. (HORRIFIC INJURY)

HOLYFIELD repeatedly head-butts RAHMAN , resulting in a grotesque swelling which has to be seen to be believed.

@@BoxingFightsByGaryWilson He just wouldn't give any quarter when on the inside with these big strong guys. An intentional headbutt is different than a clash of heads due to inside fighting style. Watch Ortiz vs. Mayweather, that's an intentional butt. Or Golota vs. Bowe. It's like allowing John Ruiz to get inside and then complain about being held. (yes at a certain point in fights Ruiz should've lost a point cuz he got too crazy with it) when the simple answer to it is to move around and be good enough to keep him at distance. Wanna not have any head issues with Holy? Don't stand there and try to use your size vs. him on the inside. The best referees in the world handles Holyfield's fights, under the influence of complaints after the Tyson fight, and nobody ever contemplated taking a point, because it was just an inside fighting style.

In 96 and 97, Tyson was the winner, and Holyfield was upset, especially in 97, when Tyson appeared in the best version of his life. Holyfield felt that he was going to lose badly, so he used a head kick to distance Tyson from the devastating challenge that broke Holyfield’s ribs and was about to smash his chin, so he used the head shot to distance Tyson and provoke him. What a shame for anyone who says that Holyfield is a great boxer, the greatest boxers of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Only the truth hurts if we talk about it.

That was not Holyfied head butting Rahman. If you look closely at 45:04 Rahman turns his head into Holyfieds head while his head is down. Rahman should have pushed Holyfield off of him. Instead he turned to try to follow up with a series of his own punches. When ppl headbutt its normally intentional and you will see it because ppl telegraph the motion.

@@peteroconnor6394 He's being real. It's the Real Deal! You think he's doing it on purpose, well clashes of heads are just as dangerous to both guys, like it feels good for Evander? No chance to get cut too? Holyfield works inside and is a rough customer, just like Lewis used to chronically hold the back of guys' heads and smash with uppercut, and Tyson and Holmes used elbows and low blows. Holyfield's fights were ref'd by the best in the business since 1986, and nobody ever flagged him for an intentional butt, and they were closest in the ring. Problem is, all these big strong heavyweights couldn't stand the fact that Holyfield wouldn't play their game and let them work on the outside to their advantage. It's like fighting Ruiz...it absolutely sucks, cuz he's in there doing his octopus bullshit, but you can't whine about it, just ask Tua how you stop it.
