What’s a Mayfair house?
@Lyndell-P
Ай бұрын
"Hello" Karen 👋 In answer to your question, it is a house in Mayfair, London 🇬🇧 Very expensive! Being high-end residental properties, with upmarket shops and restaurants and large hotels. HENCE in the board game of "Monopoly" if you bought the 2 properties (on the board) of Mayfair and Park Lane, you could very easily win the game, with the rent paid to you if those you were playing the game with, landed on that property. So it is (or was) a very expensive place to live. So when Tony Curtis sold it (later) he made alot of money. Much more than if he'd been paid a salary.

MR SEAN, I do very occasionally differ from your views but before now I have never had to scold you.Today, was the 23rd of April - and if you are not interested in the fact that all other countries in the world seem to have a public holidy on their Patron Saint's day - England doesn't -- then you should be. You should be lauding the National Day. However, just as scold-worthy is the fact that you didn'r mention it was Shakespeare's Birthday. You tell us all how "On This Day" some long forgotten film star was born - but you forget Shakespeare? I shall expect an apology. Shakespeare has enriched the world just as much as that inventor of contact lenses you told us about - a man who invented contact lenses which anyway would have been invented by someone else had he not done it first.

@@GB-qu1kq You are right. Burt Lancaster was a circus performer before becoming an actor, and I remember reading that he did most of his own stunt work.
I love the beautiful flowers. Its snowing here and iits going down to-18 overnight.
Roger Moore may have been James Bond but my favourite role of his will always be The Saint.👋👋👋👋
Ooooh it’s so pretty where you are. Bet it smells divine.
Good Evening Neil🇺🇲👋🤚👋❤️🌹
Whenever I think I’m caught up I find another great video I missed . Thank you for sharing the interesting story about Tony Curtis , and the Mayfair House. I vaguely remember Watching the Persuaders with Roger Moore , Now I want to find and rewatch the series . loved watching Ivanhoe., one of my favorite characters to read and re read about . Take care & God bless. ❤️🇺🇸
Loved the Persuaders, so much fun
I was a huge fan of Tony Curtis thought he was sooo good looking ❤❤
Thanks for the background informations! I watched some episodes not so long time ago on german TV ( they have chanal which brings old series late in the night) under the title "Die Zwei" ( The Two). I loved the duo 😊
Hi Neil interesting story.😊
👋 👋 GM 👋 EVERYONE
I never hear of this ? The Persuaders ? Did the show ever get shown in Canada or The United States ? Thanks for posting Neil 😁👏🇨🇦
Hi Neil 👋 I am an American and I haven't heard of the show
The Persuaders was terrific. There was no sign that Roger and Tony were anything but friends. Clearly they were both excellent actors. Did Tony ever play the sax when you were around Neil? If so that would be interesting to hear.
Hi friends 👋 🖐
I loved the Persuaders Neil, i can hear the title music right now. Funny little fact about Debenhams lollllll.
I vaguely remember the show and liking
I remember the Persuaders. I used to enjoy it. Not so sure about Sir Roger Moore's suits though. I'm not an expert at these things but the word 'Crimplene' comes to mind, which I was not a fan of. But I never was a dedicated follower of fashion (there's a song in that). I am in fashion every ten or twenty years when whatever I am wearing comes back. You know the score Neil...😂
I really looked forward to each episode.watch a couple of episodes recently but it was very dated😅😅
👋👋👋
👋👋👋👋😊
Hi Sean, I love the 70's series The Tomorrow People! Could you tell us something about the background?
👋👋👋🦖🦕
Dear Sean, Do you have a playlist of movies? I have found a few but I wonder how many there are?
What’s a Mayfair house?

Greetings Neil ! Your friendship with Roger and Tony provide you with some fantastic tea. That’s another reason we love your channel and we’ve become good chums. Thank you for sharing that Cathy tune by Nicki Frenchie! She’s a great singer and entertainer. The Harkles could learn something from her. 🩷🌷🩷🌷
