Expensive material doesn't automativally turn a dwelling into a home. Kitchen and dining area remind to a canteen and the lounge to a cave . Nothing appealing for that amount of money.

Zero features in keeping with the age of the building either, apart from one fireplace. all the monochrome white walls and black/dark woodwork is just so uninspired. The staff area looks like a prison.

Dark and claustrophobic, more like a bunker than a home
The contrast between the staff bedroom and the other bedrooms is quite stark. Just by peeking at that, I feel like I already know what kind of people own the house.

For almost £20M I'd expect to have breathtaking countryside views, loads of parking space in front, huge garden at the back and NO neighbours. What this is, is complete opposite, terraced house with no views no outside space - looks like a prison

But somebody who can afford this property will most likely also have a country mansion estate somewhere with all the views, space and privacy you so crave,it's not a case of having to choose between this or a country estate and most probably will also have a penthouse in Monaco as well as a Tuscany villa for good measure!😂

As eyeofthetiger said, this house is for someone that will have dinners, meetings, events etc in London and will need somewhere to stay for a few days. The sort of person that has £19 million for this will have a mansion in the countryside somewhere. You're paying £19 million to be in the heart of London, you walk outside your front door and you are in the middle of mayfair. You don't get a much more desirable post code than that
The lack of natural lights 😥
19 million and no rooftop garden I'd suffocate in there
A nuclear underground bunker. My god ! What have we become?
Is this a basement suite? Feels a bit dystopian
No outside views. It's a human storage facility, not a home.

Verry depressing property for the price. Gutting a quirky carriage house and turning into a windowless warehouse for people with way more money than taste.
So clinical and cold. Not a family home for sure
@pjoseph5950

London itself is clinical and cold these days.
50 years ago I lived in that street. They were originally Mews (stables) for one's horses and carriage, with lodgings for household servants. If you go to the "high street" on the other side, you will see the grand Terrace Houses of the Gentry. Now those old stables are worth a million quid.
This property has been in the market for ages!!! I think almost 20 mill is a bit too optimestic in my opinion Especially that it doesnt have any outdoor space or even a useable rooftop. Id say 15 mill should be a more "reallistic" proposition. It is nicely finshed though (although its missing a home theatre)

I think even at £10-12m would be a hard sell in this climate. Super wealthy just aren’t parking their money in prime central London anymore, plus U.K. government said don’t welcome Russian and Chinese money and Mayor of London said they don’t welcome Qatar following the virtue signalling of World Cup.

@@gordonspicer well I prefer hammams to saunas and probably more people do. Otherwise agreed, property prices must fall everywhere. It's just unsustainable.
Good channel but always annoying when they point at features/rooms and describe rather than giving the people a chance to see it. It's a small point but I don't get why they aren't thorough by just opening the door and a quick 2 second sweeping view if they can't be bothered to talk people through it
Too dark and too much marble!!!
Not keen on this at all, hardly any windows and feels more like an office than a home, don't like the decor

Agree completely. If I had 20 million pound to spend on a house I would want more natural light. No not my taste.
Of course you'd buy it (it's Mayfair!), but I must say I wasn't feeling it. Too much like a hotel, rather than a home.

Any and all "Mews" charm has been choked out of this house. That interior has no relation to the exterior. A high-end dungeon.

@David, exactly, looks cold, uninviting and I wouldn't give them a grand for it, truly destroyed any charm and character this property may have once had
Great presentation, you guys are so natural together. Nice!
Staff bedrooms lol. Even Victorian house maids had a window and a single bed. Says the world about the arrogance of the potential / current owners to expect the staff to sleep in bunk beds
It's been on the market for years!

I always feel these houses are targeted to Arab billionaires - The expensive but tacky materials, the number of double bedrooms with queen beds for all the wives, the terrible quarters for the staff... everything makes sense.
I don't know but I feel like I'm inside a yacht. Everything just looks so cramped up. The fact that the ceiling is pretty low tells me this is very "therapeutic" to my claustrophobia.
The fact that you got a cameraman makes you people look pro 😂❤️ congratulations to the guy 🎉

I didn’t like it. The outside is certainly not impressive enough for nearly 20 million pounds, and the inside looks cold and clinical. Far better properties on the market for that price.
Definitely paying for the location here, but I really like the secluded feeling
I like this place a lot, it’s missing something that I’d like to have like a yard and more parking etc. but I still like it a lot. Oh a camera man, I was like what is different ? 😅
It is indeed elegant inside, but I imagine myself if I own this kind of house, sooner or later I will be depressed. I prefer an open minimalist design house with a middle courtyard, backyard and an entrance garden with a cozy study/library.
Wow!
I agree with the ‘ claustrophobic’ comments.. A real ‘swimmer’s house’, considering how much space is devoted to it.. $19 mil should get you heated ‘wash your bum’ toilets & some outside space, surely.. No wonder that it’s been on the market so long..
so this building used to be the photography studio of Terence Donovan....that was the blue plaque on the wall that they walked passed.....if you wonder who Donovan was ...well he was one of the most renowned snappers of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s....he used to drive around London in a 1960s Bentley Convertible...just like the photographer character in the film " Blow Up"....he was a larger than life figure......at least the house has an interesting history.
a definite JAMES BOND house; but I wonder if even he could afford this price at $30,000,000 USD
Congrats 😂 You've managed to lower the tone of a 20 million pound pad in Mayfair! Muppets 😆🙈
Do Barnes too lovely homes there
Fantastic
That indoor pool is completely unnecessary first thing I remove after buying the place. Just an accident waiting to happen
Good price
I would like to have seen it when it was a coach house for the coachman, horse and carriage.
I like that one, now to find 19 million
Those beds looked rather narrow for 2 😊
The home is very very dark with hardly any windows, but I'd guess anyone who purchased this home would appreciate the lack of windows because of the added privacy and security. In a $20M home, part of your staff will likely be security staff, so the fewer windows and doors the better
You two are great
I love it 🍾🏘️
Having "staff" in your OWN HOME is just bleh. I will never understand people who at some point in their life decide "I am too busy to cook for myself / clean after myself /take care of myself"
It is really nice. No way would I have a in-person staff living in those sparse bedrooms though. Very much like New York in that it is super expensive but with no yard or view but a great location
Ho Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas you 2... ...I will put an offer In Straight-Away...
The interior leaves me with an impending sense of doom. Good for you for trying to big it up though,
Amazing finishes, that pool is crazy and it's in Mayfair Mews!...It's pricey, but beautiful...it'd be an impressive in town house to use in London when you're visiting from your country estate...because, why not, right? Great job guys, looking good...Merry Christmas 🎄!

Natural light needed for a greenhouse
I thought Venetian plaster was a glossy finish?
I've been looking at THIS property on zoopla for years. Lovely decorations but DARK not much natural light and the outside of the garage entrance is shabby. It's lacks light. The problem with these London properties are that the owners have dug down to increase value and don't understand that people need LIGHT. The best part of this property is the white bathroom and feature wall in the dining area.
A very fancy garage.
Looks like high end hotel
Perfect for a Premier League Footballer to live in.
My 1st choice for a country home in the UK would remain the $10M, 125-acre Coombe Park estate in Oxfordshire. My 2nd country estate choices would be the 40-acre Ockwells Manor outside Maidenhead and the 72-acre manor in Cambridgeshire. My 3rd country estate choices would be the $4M, 35-acre estate at Usk and the $4M, 40-acre Stancliffe Hall in the Peak District. My 1st choice for a home in London would remain all 3 acres of the Vanbrugh Castle in Greenwich for around $10M. I might not even need a country home with such a large property inside London. The 2nd choice for a London home would be the 6-bedroom home with a covered area of 5,300sft, reasonably-sized front and back lawns, and access to the Little Venice Garden, adjacent to Regent's Street, and 0.5 miles from Paddington. Since it doesn't have large grounds, I would need a country property with it. My 3rd choice for a London home would be the $15M property in Northwood or the $8M property in Totteridge. I might not need a country property with these either because these have reasonably large grounds. My compromise choice for a UKproperty would be the $4M, 3-acre modern home in Morden, near Royston. It is ugly, but has 3+ acre for sufficient grounds and has multiple, large and wide open indoor and outdoor living, social, recreational and activity spaces and is quite close to Cambridge and a train station, so I wouldn't need another property with it. I wonder if I would still need a penthouse, like the one on top of the Parliament View Apartments for $5.5, if I bought a property like the $4M home near Royston?

I found the camera work difficult to follow in places, didn't get a good sense of how the property is laid out
I did not see the 7th bedroom
Sure looks better than the dank Transylvanian castle, Count, hope you’ll feel at home
This isn't worth £10,000,000
I want the $10M, 125-acre, Coombe Park in Oxfordshire for my children's schooling and complement that with the $10M dilapidated property with 6 bedrooms, a covered area of 5,300fsft, huge front and back lawns and access to the tennis court in Little Venice Gardens. It is adjacent to Regent's Canal, is just 0.5 miles from Paddington, very close to Hyde and Regents parks and just 15 minutes by train from Heathrow. I could redo the property anyway I wish to. If I couldn't finance the $10M, 125-acre Coombe Park, then I'd settle for the $4M, 35-acre Usk property, with access to a river, just outside New Port and Cardiff or the $4M, 40-acre Stancliffe Hall in Peak District and complement those with either the Little Venice or another London property. In the worst case-scenario, I'd settle for the $4M 3-acre ugly energy-efficient outside Royston, which is quite close to Cambridge.

If you had 19mill to spend would you buy a place in a mews where half the living is in the basement?! It's not 'worth' £19 million...that's what the seller is asking! I doubt they'll get close. Half the place is in the dugout basement! Should have left it closer to how Terence Donovan had it,as a photo studio!
