Great review focusing on the real features which we need, which is rare enough on KZread these days to be mentioned as it should. Since you seem to know more than average ppl about sound, let me ask one question plz: Can the transmitter inputs also handle line levels, or just microphone levels? I'm asking because that would be great to have the extra option of recording internally (plus transmitted to the receiver) what is already amplified by a mixer system from a dedicated microphone (scenarios which happen during events such as wedding ceremonies, public talks, etc...)... Thanks for the info!

@@nightmusic1974 i am very bad at understanding written words. What this mic has is line out via the receiver to camera and recording internally at same time should you choose to do so with a safety channel option. Don't forget to update firmware a bunch of useful features like record lock have been added. My original review is the best place for information, I think I linked in the video description. I am out of town working at a construction camp.

@@sparkestudio Thank you so much for your quick reply, and especially taking time for it if you’re busy. Also good to know about the firmware update addons! When mentioning the audio input, i actually meant the one at the transmitter side, which can be used for plugging a Lavalier mic. So i was wondering if instead of a Lavalier, it could be possible to connect a line audio source at this particular input (which could be relevant when the audio source to capture is already amplified by another system in the room). Why asking so, well because if the input preamp is set for microphone level only, then trying to use it as a line input may overload the input, thus providing audio distortion. I would really love to use the Lark system to replace my actual sennheiser EW100 G2 system (smaller, lighter), but if it’s not possible to plug a level input at the transmitter, then unfortunately i would have to keep them for my wedding ceremony shootings. Unfortunately this info is nowhere available, so who knows you or another user may help at this point ;-) Again, thank you for your channel which is really great!

@@nightmusic1974 the best way to ask me a question is showing me what you are looking to do in video format. I had trouble passing my electrical red seal exam cause I have issues understanding sentence answer questions. I will give you an example of what might relate. If I plug in an electric guitar it is hard not to have it distort due to the high line level. However if you want the ultimate device you need to watch my Zoom F3*Hot Tips* videos part 1 to 3. The series is on my playlist where I show how to hack audio devices and video tips like how to play H265 in windows and get thumbnails. The zoom F3 can record even a high line level like guitar without issues and has 32bit float internal recording. Wait Zoom F3 is XLR only BUT not if we work around it. Audio interface using a mobile phone? No problem.

Someone really needs to 3d print a microphone locking system for this device like they did with the rode wireless go 2. Maybe a cage that has a slot that the clip can stay secured in. Any way, great video. Love your personality man. Keep it up

@@Mr.C0ffee and the Xvive U5T2 Deity Pocket Wireless I both reviewed a year ago or more. Don't know why so few have locking lavalier ports. Almost all lavalier only mics, especially pro systems and many of the VHF and UHF systems have locking lavalier ports as well. Heck the cheapo Travor microphone system I reviewed 2 years ago (deleted the review yesterday since it is discontinued) but left a hack video to remove hiss for free also had a locking lavalier port.

Anywhere there and between works. Plus 3 is fine going beyond is likely to introduce more mic self noise than camera self noise. For my Sony ZV-1 the best level was "1" with 0 being completely off. With my A7C ii I try to stay within 1 to 5 on the camera and adjust the mic volume according so I am not boosting much in post edit but also low enough to also not clip the audio.

  • @sparkestudio

Audio drift is not a problem with Sony cameras but can be with my Fujifilm X-S20 camera. Every 30 minutes the Hollyland Lark Max makes a new file for the prevention of audio drift but so does the Zoom F3 and most other audio recorders. You must install the firmware update for the Hollyland Lark Max if you want to prevent audio drift that seems to be an issue out of the box as shown updated on Hollyland online.

Spent so much money needlessly, hope this channel keeps growing so I can review more to keep informing and comparing. I am thinking of applying my long term experience of my Fujifilm X-S20 in a video review within 2 weeks a bunch of camera equipment reviews. I have a new monitor, new follow focus (not powered) camera grips but never reviewed any of it. X-S20 only initial experience where I was fighting the hype where everyone claimed it was "perfect", "the best". On my other channel I made some initial reviews of the camera; hoping for one more firmware update to maybe take one last set of fixes and see where we are at now.

The Virso M2 is a nice little system, use case makes a difference. If you have any questions about microphones wired or wireless I'll try to help. I don't know if you saw my Godox Verso M2 review right here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gWeeyrOln9C7mdo.htmlsi=mT4uw1c1izR_qWOM In that review I talk about battery life internal recording and not and conclude with the hiss that happens when boosting audio at 16bit. The Hollyland is certainly better, when I shouted into the Virso's 110 SPL it distorted compared to the Lark Max 130 SPL. I often try to make head to head comparison videos, been so busy with my full time job as an electrician and my Tech channel and working with an actor on his channel I've really been at a loss for time for videos on this Studio channel as well. I literally have about 3 videos to do but I have no time to get them done... shotgun mic windshield, Neewer Camera bag with lock, an affordable carbon fiber boom pole and more.
