I tasted this at a dinner party in 1970. Best thing I had ever tasted. I was 24 yrs old. I wanted my mother to cook it for Thanksgiving. I knew the recipe but we found it in the 1960’s recipe book American women’s club cookbook. And then years later you made it on you tv show. Every Thanksgiving since 1970 we have had it on Thanksgiving and Xmas. 5:48

I’m not from the South, but I enjoy watching Southern cooking and have made broccoli casserole this way once before. Oddly enough, I was thinking I’d make this for thanksgiving.

Add some sautéed onion, garlic powder, black pepper and it’s even better.

I love broccoli casserole! I make mine like this, but I also add cooked rice and sauteed chopped onions. Sometimes I will use Cheese Whiz instead of grated cheese. It just adds to the dish, plus the rice makes it go further. It's a Thanksgiving and Christmas staple in my house.

This casserole has been one of our favorites for years ever since we first moved to Savannah. The only difference we make is to top ours with crispy fried onions instead of bread or cracker crumbs. It's delicious any way though. Love a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This is a different twist on our family tradition Paula we use and layer cream mushroom soup broccoli florets lost of sharp cheddar cheese and topped with frenches dried onions bake at 350 until bubbles we will need to try yours yummy

This is really similar to what my grandmother used to make it Thanksgiving differences is first called for the dish to be buttered and the casserole had a medium onion grated on the side of the greater that has the little dots to where it almost turns into almost onion water LOL and it had two eggs in it can we use a cup and a half of cubed Velveeta that was really good brings back memories my grandma died a year and a half ago

I grew up eating broccoli casserole except mum would use mushroom soup and blanch fresh broccoli and add cheese or leave it out and she would crush soup crackers over top and sometimes added chicken and served with rice damn good and comforting

Our only difference between ours and yours is that we use celery soup

Its isnt the fact that the rings get dirty, its the bacteria in the rings that could contaminate the food. Rings get real dirty from every day wear...and dont forget they go in the bathroom with you too🤮. Its a bad habit to wear rings when cooking.
