Well, when the anime was released - parents in Japan complained so the producers had to quickly re edit the gore and blood out.

@indrajeet I know. But at least most of the footage survived and was reinserted into the film, albeit in lower quality. The anime series has great voice acting but the art just doesn't come close to the manga and the censorship is absurd. The anime was actually even more censored than many anime today which is surprising. Characters had white blood. They turned it into a babies show.

The show was so censored because the only time slot they could secure for the show was at 5pm, and not a later timeslot where they would've been able to get away with more

Mayhapp a tad off-topic, but considering how Nanto works in general, its fucking busted. I mean, i can imagine someone like Rei or Souther fighting Dragonball villains/antagonists like Frieza or Jiren and come out on top.
