well yeah that's gonna be in the north South America DLC, this was the South South America DLC btw considering Brazil keeps it's focus tree when the mapuche create the native state adding focus trees to South America can only be a buff to the mapuche

You need to go down the French Chile path and choose to play as the split off island nation.

I mean, the Mapuche are still resisting today, and will still do it in 500 years because they lack any cohesive organization outside war times, which means any agreement they reach can be broken by any part at any time, and the whole fight starts once again.

Mapuche Chile actually gets insane bonuses to compliance, it makes it worthwhile to hold the land yourself instead of creating puppets as you go. You get way more manpower out of it that way even if you choose not to core it.

Try controlling the entire pacific ocean as Kingdom of Rapa Nui (easter island).

I had to replay Stakuyi reading out the description of his first focus again...because all thats missing is complaining that it seems today, that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV.

That is a really cool vibe, I always used to have quite a big thing for playing as Chile back in the early days of Hoi4 but this native route is awesome. It would be really cool to do a multiplayer game with the main major powers slugging it out as normal until the end of the war only to then see this massive Native South and Central America that has risen up ready to be the final challenge for whatever worn torn nations still stand.

You forgot to use the navy. Chile has a strong navy from the start and can naval invade anywhere, including panama, to colombia to ecuador which helps you surround peru and avoid loses from their tough defenses.

Thanks for this! It was really fun to watch! I laughed so hard when you freed and established the Inca Empire and lost the northern territories of Chile because I knew it was gonna happen! If there was a nation that the Mapuche wouldn't liberate, it would be the Incas: the Incas conquered most of the North of Chile until they were stopped by the Mapuche. They were the reason why the Incas didn't expanded more to the south. You should do a podcast about the Mapuche, their history of resistance against the Incas, Spanish and the chilean republic....and talk about today's conflict in the Araucanía region. One could say that the War of Arauco is still going! Cheers from Chile!

Interesting historical fact was that the Dutch worked together with the Mapuche against the Spanish colonial administration and succeeded in pushing Spanish settlers out of some areas and some fled fearing the combined forces. For the sole reason to use Southern Chile as a naval base to launch naval raids from on Spanish merchant ships on the West coast of the Americas. This was during the same time the Dutch conquered parts of northern Brazil from Portugal when it was in a personal union with Spain. Edit: this all took place during the Dutch revolt which is interesting but I feel is not much discussed since the Dutch saw in Mapuche a natural ally against the Spanish

@@GwainSagaFanChannel That is correct. The dutch and some pirates used the southern lands of Chile to raid Spanish ports, towns and ships. That's why the Spanish made strong fortifications such as the one in Valdivia.

29:50 You lost that section because that territory (Tarapacá and Antofagasta) was occupied by Chile after the Pacific War (also known as the Saltpeter War) in 1879-1884. It was historically much closer to the Incan territories than to the Mapuche ones. Even today they those regions have a very mixed cultural heritage, since the northernmost cities are closer to Perú and Bolivia than to the rest of Chile. There's also, sporadically, demands from Bolivia that a strip of land be returned to them as to allow them access to the Pacific ocean.

Until 1938, all you do is build up industry and get a couple of units, then take on Argentina and Brazil forming the river federation, and eventually taking over the whole of the continent. It's very satisfying to start off small and grow really big and powerful

Challenge suggestion. Most South American nations seem to get big bonuses to aircraft, especially range. What if you could fly over the terrain instead of marching through the jungles and mountains? Are the bonuses good enough for just Air Force and Airborne?????

For anyone trying this path, there is a way to skip the Mapuche civil war. Just increase conscription law as soon as possible, during the buildup the war support will fall and communists start a civil war(an extremely easy one). If that civil war is ongoin while you do the focus for the Mapuche civil war, it won't fire but you will still get all the troops and advisors.

Ok, you want a challenge? Alright, heres one similar to your suggestion. Play as Uruguay (Or Another South American Nation) and go the democratic or communist path, and have all other nations set to do either nationalism or non-aligned.
