The conversation that Susan and DEATH have about belief is some of the best and most poignant writing I have ever seen. Pratchett has the wonderful ability to make you cry laughing and cry crying.

I liked how he brought to the front the knowledge of how Christmas had its start in the Pagan religion. Regarding the podcast and the view on religions, if you’ve not reached it yet then your in for a treat with the ‘Way of Mrs. Cosmopolite’ and it’s most famous adherent Lu-Tze the history monk.

"You need to believe in things that aren't true, how else can they become?" That, to me, was Pratchett at his best and I can't help myself burtsing into tears each time I read it (which happens roughly once a year.) I really miss that man

Great book and not a bad pick up point for the wizards and death - so much so that it's the first story adapted to a movie. Glad you liked it :)

I actually tried watching the movie the other night! I didn’t finish it because I didn’t realize it was actually a made for TV movie in 2 parts, and 3 hours is hard to come by for me 😅 Also we started it at 10pm, which is like, 1am in parent time lol. I will finish it eventually though!

@@shannakay-vellumandvellich3542 it is definitely not late night suitable. It has some great moments but it's sooo slow! Going Postal was the I ly one of the 3 they did I can whole heartedly recommend but for fans of the series it is nice to see these characters bought to life

Today I watched it nice story

Hogfather is in the Gods Trilogy omnibus book ehich i take as more authoritivly than a website.... Santa is missing and Death is filling in

While I liked the Death side of the story I couldn’t have cared less about most of the rest of the book. Susan was ok but only due to the Raven and Death of Rats following her around. The unseen university stuff was just boring for me. And Hex I found myself skimming over for the most part. Until it became an integral part of the story, in its own little way.
