I love how no one even notices the oddity of seeing Kinch in an SS Uniform. This show was ahead of it's time in it's colorblindness. In a time in TV history when racial differences were being highlighted and even exploited, Kinch was neither defined by, nor treated differently for, his race. He is just "one of the guys." Respect.

I also remember reading (although I have not been able to find it again) that if you watch the show carefully, he is almost always in the center of the frame when he's in a scene. The reason that was done was so that the apparently common practice of editing shows so that blacks could not be seen in them that was done in the South at the time (remember this would have been at the end of the Civil Rights movement when the show started) couldn't be done without completely ruining the show. THAT was a cool move on their part - one of many where Kinchloe was concerned :)
