Hockey Hip Flow Mobility Routine (Great For Mohawk Skating!)

Hey, Hockey Player!
In this video, I'm going to take you through a hip mobility routine that will help you improve your mohawk turns and just overall open up your hips before you get out on the ice or before your workouts.
Movement quality is so important - because it doesn't matter how conditioned you are or how strong you are if you do not have the technical execution to back up all that horsepower.
A lot of hockey players suffer from tight hips and I want to help you get over that problem.
In this video, I will show you the 3 moves you can do to open your hips and get greater mobility.
Thanks for watching, as always hit the thumbs up button if you liked this video - and subscribe to get more hockey training videos.

    Yup, this is exactly what I've been incorporating in my stretching routine and it's been helping with *my lower back*, which hockey really hits hard (for me). Great vid

    WOW!! I’m so glad I found this channel. Great Stuff. My son, of course, had already known about it and had tried some of the training methods. Now we are going to dig deeper and use more of it...together! Keep up the great work over there.

    Great video, just started using it for inline skating. You mentioned having pain in the front leg when stretching forward. What if I have pain in the rear leg?

    great video - i wonder if you should switch leading legs i.e in the video you sit with your left leg forward would it be beneficial to do these exercises with your right leg/hip forward as well ?

    I would recommend consistently doing this routine 3-4x per week and you'll start seeing your hips improving around the two week mark.

    Two things would it be properly effective to try and do this everyday and should we do both sides? Thanks these videos are amazing and so are the podcasts

  • @hockeytraining

    Thanks for checking out the videos and podcasts! Yes, you should definitely do this on both sides every time you do it -- but, you shouldn't need to do it more than 3x per week.

    Is it ok to work out and then go practice right after?

  • @hockeytraining

    @hockeytraining

    Ideally not as it would reduce your performance output during your skill work -- workouts should be placed 4-6hrs apart, or, on their own days entirely.

    I don't recommend any accelerated recovery tactics in the off-season, but, in the in-season cold showers can be a great idea.
