Moterm without the back pocket is my ideal cover

So I have that EXACT same pen. My suggestion is to get a piece of regular Scotch take and "line" the inside of the pen loop hole with it. It'll make it slicker so you can just slide the pen in and out. The Pentel Calme is a great pen but that grip is SO aggressive.

My favourite weeks cover so far is by Eternal Leather Goods - great leather, fit for both sizes, great pocket design, fat pen loop and doesn’t overly bulk up the planner

This was helpful. My favorite is all the veg-tanned Moterm covers. They have the perfect price for the quality, and all the amenities the cover has.

Love your collection! I regret selling my Moterm veg tan ones, but like you I wasn't using them. Now I can't find one!! grrr! lessoned learned!

Hi! I wanted to tell you about a pen. There are drawing pens by Le Pen that come in a pack of 4 (0.01, 0.1, 0.5, and 0.8). The best part about them is you can highlight over them without any smudging because they are made for art. Another great thing is being able to switch up your sizes based on your mood / any detailing you want to do, such as drawing thick/thin lines. I just got my first Hobonichi, and I did my pen test, and I had to tell you about what a win this was

I’m so glad you found a pen you love so quickly! I love the way drawing pens look, but I’m a little too hard on my pens when I write and it always makes the tip wonky. 😅

Wow, I love your collection of covers Sam! This was such a thorough video. I have a Naya Paperie in Weeks, and a few Moterm Veg Tan on the way , one being in Honey and seeing yours confirms I love that color! I also have a Midnight coming from the pre-order and another one I just purchased on BST last night...I'm not 100% on the color however, I think it might be Caramel or maybe even Chestnut, 🤣 Time will tell! Thank you for sharing!

The Muppet is a “faux” with calf leather. I know they had issues with that shipment, but I honestly wish they’d bring the collection back! I hope you find one!

Moterm, no back pocket and textured is my ideal. A con with Moterm is you can’t specify for texture. I agree pen loops are often an issue. I don’t like an elastic close either. I also want it to fit with the coc on. Lovely to see these all though, super useful. O

I've had several Midori belt seals through the years, and I've never realized that they each contain a pen holder -- thanks for the info!

Have you tried the Portland leather goods ranch wallet as a cover for the weeks? I saw someone do that and it was unclear if the planner was a weeks or not.

Hi Sam! I have my first three day weekend and now binge watching your videos…need to catch up! Thanks for making this video! Gillio would be my number one pick but if Gillio and VDS are funny about pen loops then I may lean towards Moterm. Bought my first Moterm A6 cover in Taupe love it… the Moterm Weeks is still elusive to me but I may want a couple of them. I’m seeing they are out of stock often. Still practicing what I use the Hobo. Weeks some weeks I write a lot then some bare minimum. 2023 is just new planner experiments for me. But I am meeting a lot of nice sticker shop people and nice planner community friends here on my new book bound journey…thanks for making this video. It helped me a lot since I have always been particular about my pens and don’t use slim pens. Hope you are doing well! Take care!

The only con with the veg tan Moterm covers, IMO, is that they are almost as hard to get as a Gillio! They are super popular- and for a good reason!

It’s so true! I ordered two more in the most recent preorder. If it’s a scheduled drop you have to set an alarm and act fast! Stressful!

I hate all pen loops. I can understand your frustration. I have zero patience to put a pen through it...even if it would fit reasonably easily. It's like those 4 seconds would kill me! lol if I use a pen loop, strictly clipping the pen on only! All those covers are beautiful! I have 2 moterm veg tan covers and I find my older one lies a lot more flat than the newer one. Maybe usage flattened the bump of the back pocket, or it might just be different pieces of leather acting differently... but there's hope yours may lie flatter eventually :)

I have bent this one back and fought it over and over. I think it’s just luck of the draw. I do wish they’d make them without the back cover! I’d like to find one of the older ones without it.

loved your video... I LOVE leather and the texture but it would have to be pliable, lay flat and not be too thick... but I prefer the TN as I like soft covers... For me I cover my covers by wrapping them with cardstock (almost like a booksleeve) that is completely removeable so I don't get the extra height and can fit my inserts into whatever cover I use. Your covers are too lovely to cover and I fully understand why you use a clear cover. Thanks for the information and sharing your beautiful covers... a bit of an investment but maybe some day I will treat myself... my leather TN covers are much more basic and the leather is nice but not luxurious.

They are currently out of stock. You’ll need to watch the Moterm FB or IG for release info.

The pen loop situation is annoying. I'm not sure what pens these companies are testing them with. Even the Gillio pens do not fit the Gillio pen loops. I think that my Pilot VP is thin compared to many pens so why should that not fit in any pen loops.?..frustrating. Good on Moterm for creating a pen loop that is actually for pens. Other than the pen loop situation you have a beautiful collection Sam. Thank you for sharing.
