    Hi 3 Sons RC, I´m thinking to buy an used but almost new EXB with Spektrum (Firma) 160A Smart ESC and Firma 1100kV Motor (5687 size). Your Motor has more RPM but has maybe less torque? The seller has 30/35/40t pinions in his offer. That should be quite powerfull? What do you think? Till now I have only ridden 1/10s 2wd and 4wd. 3S-5S...

  • @3SonsRC

    @@franciscoduran3688 that setup is going to be an absolute beast! To be honest it probably too much for that rig.... Stock or slightly above stock is plenty, but you could always buy it and gear it down.... I would think 35t would be nuts. My 2 Cents

    With a 22t I manage to pop wheelies. In a short course truck!! I would recommend Scorched Parts wheel fenders with Arrmas front dirt guards. The centre stays clean even in the dirt. It can block cooling, so a better ESC fan and one for the motor may be a good idea if the guards are fitted

    @@leo0528 Any power system will get hot regardless of gearing if it's ran hard and consistently and in warmer weather. For me it's fine for average bashing! However I have the Scorched Parts fenders on mine which can block air flow, so I fitted a 40mm fan on the motor

    Just a side note on the esc install. You can trace the bottom of the esc onto a thin piece of paper. Then flip the esc over and use the square you just cut out to poke holes through the paper where the mounting holes are on the bottom of the esc. Then use the paper to locate the position of the esc onto the esc mounting plate and mark where the holes are. Then drill the holes. Now you can mount the esc with screws. Feel free to use some double sided tape in there as well. This holds up better than just tape itself. Double side note. The supplied plastic esc mount is pretty weak and breaks easy. Get the m2c mount.

    Hi, great vid. Does this ESC works smart like when your truck is in stand still (and you have not used the brake before) you press the throttle forward to initiate reverse then you do not have to do it twice: first brake then reverse but it does it for the first press knowing that as the vehicle is stopped no need for braking? Thanks!

  • @TheRCNetwork

    @TheRCNetwork

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, as long as you go past center on the throttle it will engage the brake. Of course braking power can be controlled via the program card. You can also activate drag brake to instantly engage a slight brake when you take your finger off the throttle. Many racers use this to slow down in turns

    I used to test mesh on 1/8 buggy by sound and feel, but I always went too loose and would get excessive wear on the pinion, I have stopped that method and use the paper trick. I haven't had any mesh issues since. Or heavy wear like I've seen so many times. That mesh sounded loose to me, is it mod1 gearing?

    Hi Richard, I have just built my Mojave using the exact same setup except with a Futaba 4PM. When I try to set up the ESC I can get one beep for neutral but nothing after thar. Strangely when I turn the steering it gives me 2 beeps and hen I ditch off ad on again the steering controls the throttle! Every time I go back into programming mode the same happens! Any ideas? Thanks Colin

    Hey - I'd clear out that current model's memory and start over. First bind the receiver to the radio, then calibrate the ESC to the radio. Make sure you have the receiver wires plugged in (polarity wise) correct and channel one for steering and channel two for throttle. If no tones for throttle again, you can try reversing channel 2.
