    Imagine explaining it to your partner: "What have you been doing this evening?" "I've taken my SURPRISE TAU to FLGS to have a duel of the fates against some bloke to AVENGE our nephew" (All while said nephew is sat at home playing COD because he's done with this hobby and that tryhard who trounced him.) Speaking as someone who is one of you, I must say nerds really are something else sometimes lmao

    Joking aside a two Males one Female threesome may have been the intention rather than cuck or him watching or whatever. Let's be honest that's the usual female kink with this stuff and it sounds like this woman was used to calling the shots in the bedroom. Either way, I'd have noped out as well. Most people would I think.

    38:36 if you had to resort to a titan and knights to get a win, was it a win? 3000 points of tau even when they were “bad” could do brutal stuff. This is definitely one of those “and then everybody clapped and I fucked the prom queen” stories.

    42:09 this sounds like one of those stories where it goes ‘and everybody cheered and did the Macarena’. I could have just spent too much of my youth on 4chan to believe it and I’m just cynical, but I’m not sure. What’s everyone else’s opinion? Have you seen this sort of ‘revenge’ happen in your local games workshop / hobby shops? The most I’ve seen is guys getting pissed off and double checking *everything* with a tape measure.

    As North's channel is getting bigger there's more of an r/thathappened feel to some of these stories. It makes sense, people can either write a reddit post and get maybe 20 upvotes or they can send a piece of pie in the sky to North's mailbag, get it read out, get a possibly entertaining reaction, and get several thousand people listening to it. It's like a ready-made audience if you want to construct a couple of thousand words of a narrative you think would be entertaining or funny. A couple of months ago we had a big character drama based around a pizza shop which was definitely fiction, we've already had a literal "and everybody clapped" and a table flip and the other week we had an account of a staff member being so toxic to a kid calling him a "maggot" and "ant piss" and the like that even North said it was over the top and cartoonish and asked if this really happened while he was reading it. Expect more tall tales the bigger this channel gets.

    Man, usually I listen to this just because much of the opinions you present are not my own, but I can see and respect where most of it is coming from. When I heard you lash out at the last dude for being a narcissistic prick who doesn't give a shit about the kid he's sent out to get hurt that resonated and I don't think I've ever agreed with anything in this entire show more. How fucking ridiculous is it to try and humiliate the dude with a game. I don't want to judge too harshly as well though since, as you said, he might have left out the parts where he did help the kid. That was the voice of reason in the back of my mind but the voice of rage went off a lot harder 😂

    Yeah I was a kid who played my first warhammer game at a store. I didn't have an uncle or big brother so when my other friend and I went against a Tau army when they first came out, they basically cheated and made up rules the whole time to table us the first/second turn. I didn't own the Tau codex but I knew they were making up stuff because we literally killed zero units. They high fived each other after stomping on us and we never went back to the store. They didn't seem to like our paint job which I felt really bad because my mom painted some of my units and they were so awesome to me. 20 years later now in my early thirties I actually just got back into the hobby a year ago and have been having fun. Still havnt played a game at a store because I guess the thought still gives me anxiety even though I have competed in chess and wrestling through my days lol. Strange eh.

    I havent even gotten to the end of the "revenge" story and 2 things. 1: this story sounds FAKE AS FOOK. 2: hes gonna table this guy and rhen repeat the line he said to his nephew like its some kind of dunk, you can tell that as this dude writes his story out that hes really thinking hes some kind of legend when in reality HES the one who messed up and his way of correcting what happened is absolutely pathetic and insane and makes him look worse. This guy messed up every single part of this story and in fact , to me, this whole story sounds fake because i cant imagine that this actually happenes because its so stupid

    Yeh that's not the way to deal with that bloke. You take it outside of the game and hobby, because keeping it in the realm of the hobby keeps it away from reality. You switch to real life and you go and talk to the bloke and tell him thats not on and that he should stay away from having games with children because that in itself is a bit odd in my personal opinion. Make it clear to him that he's never to have a game with your nephew ever again and that he needs to pull his head in. For me keeping it in the hobby and out of real life means that this guy won't take it seriously and will continue to behave in this way because it's all apart of the game for him. Take away the game and approach him in real life without any facet of the hobby and let him know he's a pathetic loser and his behaviour is not okay.

    Unpopular opnion after listening to this video again I think North is wrong in the 3rd story. He goes off on the guy when north reads at around 27:40 that they began teaching him the hobby. He also says at about 27:55 that the parent and the uncle think it’d be a good start for him to play other players which could imply he’s played with them a bit. I don’t disagree with north stating it’s wrong to get revenge he should have just played a game at home with the nephew to boost confidence and keep them in the hobby. North is correct there. Just more or less feel like he lambasted the writer based on a misinterpretation of the writing. Or maybe came across as a bit overly harsh. But we do appreciate north for the effort he puts into the channel.

  • @SuperAceFuture
    @SuperAceFuture2 ай бұрын

    "We began teaching him the basics" and "get MORE experience with OTHER players" are two exact quotes from the last story, that doesn't sound like the beginners to 10th event was his first introduction to the hobby. Also the guy said he had an appointment that he could not miss and still showed up for the event after, presumably to watch over the kid and look after him. Atleast that's my interpretation. Also after bigging him up as they cool type of and hearing him go look for the child, why is your immediate conclusion that he didn't comfort the child first. Tbf he should have clarified that he did it because it does make it sound like he's revenge hungry, but after everything we saw of him before that just doesn't seem like a logical conclusion to come to. Also the kid has a dad and mum that probably did the comforting aswell. Think you were a bit harsh on him but I do agree that the revenge seemed needless even of it did get "that guy" banned.

    You don’t necessarily know every last detail. You don’t know what he did with his nephew after the event. You’re tearing into the man with limited intel. I think you very easily can do both, console the kid and hurt the ego of the gonzo. While I tend to agree you should ease a new player in yourself, I can also easily see how an uncle might have just thought it was a good opportunity to let the kid get multiple games in at the store. Not the brightest move, but for pity’s sake stop tearing into him. He probably feels guilty enough without you doing so repeatedly.
