Great Video. I'm on the sales side for used restaurant equipment and your videos have helped me learn a few things. I've repaired about 30 undercounter hobarts this year......... theres been alot of bad words thrown around in our warehouse for not being able to get ahold of service manuals! Keep it up, we appreciate the help!

Back in I use to work for Hobart I was more on the refrigeration side however I would work on everything. Having a strong HVAC/R background I would blow threw oven's proofer's steamer's etc. They where just 80% Furnaces to me. Their schooling and training where ok. One teacher did not like me, he wanted you to diagnose everything from the control board. So I have pump motor not starting on a washer. I go I have power going to the motor and it's not running. He goes so you have a bad motor? I go maybe according to the board I do, but does the board tell me if a wire shorted off the motor? The look on his face was priceless.

I would have changed the floats as they tend to stick and cause the element to dry fire and this would trip the high limit good vid, and to lower temp u would have to ajust the temp board

Please compare the use of a typical NCV stick tester versus your key chain solenoid tester? I have not had to be concerned with pump rotation directions in my limited experience, yet like a moth to the flame, am drawn to the purchase of yet another tool. My name is Dave... and I'm a tool-a-holic, it has been 6 days since.......

Lololol. The problem with NCV is that it tests for a live wire only. Meaning it does not tell you if the neutral side of the circuit is coming through. Also it can’t be used on 208V as it won’t pick up the 2nd leg of the 120V circuit and it doesn’t work on 24V. Also it cannot test through certain sheathings (BX). Although I only use the solenoid tester for solenoids and small pumps, it saves me the time of having to test for power by removing covers etc. I never use NCV for testing voltage as it only detects one side of the circuit.

are there any video for an inner pumped clogged the pot washer i have all 4 propellers cleaned out thoroughly one side is not cleaning things properly and actually making things dirtier like its not washing properly on one side and leaving food particles any suggestions?

I took one apart recently, make sure to get gaskets etc. you could have a damaged impeller in the pump. Make sure all spray arms are clean and not leaking

@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH yess spray arms are cleaned out thoroughly often and checked for debris I feel like it's something internal on one side and I feel this particular machine mabey has a two sided pump but one side is barely spraying and leaving the food pans dirty on one side

If the booster tank was over temping it should have tripped the hi limit for the booster tank and not the h limit in the wash tank. I would have replaced the hi limit and the probe for the booster tank.

After having some great techs on here give their input, that wash tank hi limit usually only trips if there is a dry fire. I changed the float switch and never got called back.

@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH The hi limit in the wash tank will trip with a dirty element and with calcium build up.

Yes, issue was a faulty float switch. The only way for that hi limit to trip would be on a dry fire. Someone watched the video and educated me on it!

Well done RKQTech. I've got a solid understanding and troubleshooting for hot side, little of 10 years and also worked with Hobart previously. Now helping a company that does it all, hot cold and commercial HVAC. I found the transition was fairly simple, although different ball game, to be clear. I'm still surprised how often I've become useful to the HVAC techs regarding diagnostics. It was my understanding that if you brush basic troubleshooting, electric theory, and learn the sequences of the equipment, you can solve 98% of all your issues.
