Thanks Troy! More to come as we go along, by the time we are done, everyone will have an idea what CTC signals in Canada mean

Always fun to see how people explain signals. Question; are your sidings SCT or just regular non signalled sidings? When I worked up north all our sidings were SCT (for those unaware, SCT or Siding Control Territory, is where you have non signalled sidings, but the RTC must be made aware if those sidings contain equipment. Meaning that unless told otherwise, those sidings should be clear of equipment)

Can you have a train at an advance clear to stop signal eventually approach a clear green after it reaches the second block? Or will the second block always be red once it passes an advance clear to stop signal? Sometimes we have trains pass one of those shortly after a via train went by and I wonder if they just have to let it get some distance or if they actually have to stop at the second signal block?

Yes exactly! The via train is faster and will clear the blocks ahead faster than the freight, or if the via crosses over to a different track, once he clears the switch then the blocks ahead are now clear. You got it!

Tiny correction: those signal rules are called *Advance* not *Advanced* ... there is no D at the end. _Advance Clear to Stop_ _Advance Clear to Slow_ _Advance Clear to Medium_ etc.

This is true but when I call them out on the train I call them advanced, force of habit, but yes you are right

So let's see if I remember my CROR, yellow on top is proceed to something then we crazy Canadians, i say that in the heavy french accent of my first CROR instructor. Make multiple lights flash add triangles because we ran out of colors and lights to flash. It starts to look like a Christmas tree at times. 😊

@SilverCreekSub I will get "requalified" on some of the CROR yet. My card has long since expired. 105 territory had some of that too. OCS? 104b? Still have my carbon paper, dating myself for sure. Keys too.
