The effort and level of execution it takes to win a set against Åhman and Hellvig, not to mention a match, even for top-10 teams

if swedes would NOT win the olympics, it would be a sensation.

We don’t understand real fisical conditions. Brazil is very good now, USA game is beautiful, but a lot of mistakes.

Sweden is just too good, it’s absolutely demoralizing to the other teams. It’s gotta be tough to keep a positive mind set against a team that just doesn’t loose

Hellvigs blocking has improved this last year. I usually thought that was this teams "weakness" but he really stepped up his game at the net.

Interesting. I've been following this team since their youth career, and I felt it was Hellvig's block that first established them on the senior level. At the time, David Åhman seemed to lag behind, but has since caught up and might even be the better of the two players.

@@SadDetonator i said i think his netplay has improved last year or two. Never said he was bad on the contrary hes always been a great blocker. But the way hes playing lately i cant hold anyone over the other.

@@tommiejohansson962 Apologies; I overread that part. Hellvig's blocking may have improved, but Åhman's transition play certainly has. If he gets his hands on the ball on defense, he has a high probability of converting the counter attack. This has always been one of his skills, but it is now such a weapon that he can with good cause be called the best defender in the world.

@@SadDetonator åhman biggest strenght is indeed his ability to get from defense to attack. But I still think he can improve his defense. Its funny to sit here, fat and old, and be extremly picky. I agree with you, åhman is probably the best defender in the world right now, at least top 3. But, i think he could improve his defense vs the soft attacks. He could dig up 1 or 2 more of those every game imo. But he tend to make a chance and then he cant turn back. Imo hes so bloody fast over the court that he can wait for the cut then dig it up. But, yeah im cherrypicking the 0.01%. I dont think those errors will matter in the overall

@@tommiejohansson962 I think the one change to their game that I would like to see is them shooting their attacks over top of the block rather than spiking the ball. If they go for the corner/baseline roll shot more often, they will be even harder to play against. Right now, we see the occasional monster block they could easily avoid.

What is this Highlights selection? It was a fairly close game but 75% of the shown points were for Sweden!

The highlights highlighted a run of points for Åhman and Hellvig in the middle of the first set. (That is why they are called highlights.) In the close second set, points distribution and the scenes shown are fairly even.

Didn't Sweeden have 5 matchpoints? But I agree. Having two sideout opportunities should be more than sufficient for these teams.
