    Just bought this saw and it is amazing! I'm a carpenter and have used a lot of different brands. I have a lot of Hitachi products and they've never let me down. Huge value for the money. This saw is a dream to run every day. Mounted it on the Dewalt DWX726 rolling miter saw stand and that makes it even better. Best saw mounted on the best cart - couldn't get any better IMHO

    Sweet review. The rail system is not only ingenious, but also very smooth, outdone perhaps only by the Bosch axial glide in this area.

    Hate they discontinued this in exchange for a lesser model. Not only was this Hitachi's best saw, but it was simply the best saw at the time...period. Outside of a $1500 Festool, nothing could compete with this. Even to this day, I know people still willing to pay more for these used than other options.

    I have been using a miter saw with a similar handle for 15 years and it has never bothered me once. I'm used to it though and I'm sure others would get used to it fast. Also, the adjustability of this saw is really really nice! I love the rail system. Great idea. It's no Bosch glide, but it works.

    This is a great saw! I have had mine for over 3 years. It came calibrated out of the box and is still accurate without any adjustments. The dust collection could be better, but that the only negative for this hard worker. Overall, I have had very good luck with Hitachi tools. I have bunch of them.

    I have almost exclusively Hitachi power tools and love them. I have not got a miter saw yet and think I want to get this model. I heard that the c12rsh2 is not as good as the old model. Between c12rsh or the c12rsh2 model what would you recommend, if you don't mind? I never see prices as low as what the guys on youtube say they paid. One guy said he got this exact model refurbished like new for 285 with tax and delivery included.

    Hi. Nice presentation. I have a doubt. I search about it in the manual, but i didn't found anything... Between the left and right fences, there is a piece or part (I don't know the name, there's nothing about it in the manual), that the blade goes through (at a certain point) when you're cutting. Also there is a knob that sets the position of this piece, back and forth. When it comes from the factory, there is no slot for the blade, so I guess that we have to make it at the first use, right? Well, what's the correct depth of this cut (slot)? Can I make it without fear? Thanks!

    I have the Bosch 12" slider but would actually prefer this saw because of the rail system. Also the price isn't bad at all either. The only thing that kinda hurts Hitachi is some of their tools have that weird organic look to them. They have weird bulges and colors other than that it looks like a solid saw that won't break your back or bank.

    Have to say right off the bat I'm not a fan of Hitachi at all, I have always found their stuff cheap but then the price usually reflects that as well but I was surprised by this...love the adjustable laser and the sliding mechanism, great saw! If this is the cadillac of saws then me being British I have the Rolls Royce of saws...(yes RR is owned by the Germans) but then my saw was made by the Germans, its the Bosch Glidesaw which was one of the very first tools I bought based on your guys recommendations and I have loved it ever since, in fact the only gripe I have ever had is the lack of a laser...great video guys and great saw!

  • @DarkRaptor99

    TheBearuk1 I have the Bosch 12" slider great saw the only thing is the Germans never heard of the word light weight it seems. If you just look in general through history they love to overbuild things. The other thing about most sliders is you can't put it against a wall which sucks in small spaces.

    DarkRaptor99 yeah I totally agree DR the Germans do over engineer things which is not generally a bad thing but like you say it makes for a heavy saw, the knuckle joint on the Glidesaw is definitely well engineered and adds a huge amount to the weight of the saw but the accuracy and smoothness of the operation more than makes up for the extra weight and since I bought a mobile collapsable mitre saw stand at the same time I got the saw it makes it easier to manage!

  • @DarkRaptor99

    @DarkRaptor99

    9 жыл бұрын

    TheBearuk1 Yea I got the gravity rise stand for free when I got my saw. I just wish they had a similar deal on the Glide when I bought my saw. I never seen Bosch run a sale like that again. It was basically like getting the saw 50% off as the stand was like $299, and the saw was $599 I'm space constrained, so being more compact would be awesome. I debate all the time selling my old saw and getting the Bosh glide. I might have considered the 10" but it really doesn't lose much weight and you lose cut capacity.

  • @TheBearuk1

    @TheBearuk1

    9 жыл бұрын

    DarkRaptor99 wow that was a good deal DR...i didn't get any deal on the Bosch when i got it...i needed one quick and always wanted the Bosch after seeing the review by Dan and Eric so i took the plunge...they didn't have the Bosch Gravity Rise in stock when I got the saw but the Ridgid stand was on sale for $99 so thats the way I went...I will upgrade to the gravity rise at a future date but for now the Ridgid is doing the job. I think you were right not to go the 10" route it would have been a big drop in capacity.

    Samir P Japanese Brand. Might be made in China - but that isn't unique to Hitachi. With the exception of some really high dollar tools (Hilti, Festool...) most tools are made in China, Taiwan or that area.More to the point though, the internals are even more likely to come from China. Even things like the bearings and power regulators in high dollar tools are from China, regardless of where they might be finally assembled into a working tool.

    +CHAD LANTHIER they invented the compound miter saw the also made the best air power nail guns, I have a 2 year old Dewalt 12 inch and a 15 years 12 inch Hitachi the dewalt is a great saw until you lay it over for the bevel cut it just becomes a pig, Hitachi does all cuts with ease. I use the Dewalt for joists and general framing and the Hitachi for weather boards, skirting or fine work

    Hitachi just doesn't seem to get the love like other brands when it comes to corded or cordless tools. Besides their pneumatics which are considered a standard of the job site. I think they just don't have the marketing and store presence like the other brands to take them to that next level. I just don't think of buying Hitachi tools cordless is a weird situation because unless they offer a tool you really need your going to stay on one battery platform if possible. Hitachi i has brushless tools even

    This is so true, the marketing department(Lowes) does very poor job at getting these tools noticed by the public. They offer great tools, we currently use their grinders and we put them up to the challenge in our shop and they kick butt.

    DarkRaptor99 Hitachi signed a long term contract with Lowe's years ago. Lowe's snubbed them when they pushed Kobalt into power tools (2010/2011 or so) - and it nearly killed Hitachi USA. They are out of the contract, so you see Hitachi show up in more and more stores now, but they are playing a slow game of catch up in North America.

    Luckily it looks as though it is just an exclusive deal for their nailers (which are great BTW - pretty much have the full stable of them from their roofers, siding, framers and finish...in 3 different sizes). For a contract like that, Lowe's likely paid through the nose though. Hitachi nailers are long time favorites on the job site.

    Lowe's seems to carry a boat load of their tools now. Just recently they started showing up in my Lowe's near me and I pooched this up the other day.

    not sure why the model 2 would be garbage.. care to explain? be that as it may I was able to pick this up at lowes, it was hard to find as they are packing in the model 2 right now. they will not have these much longer. I don't like the miter and bevel stickers but the rest of the saw appears outstanding. the first one I picked up had a broken handle, maybe during shipping, not sure.
