Excellent video, as always. Thanks a lot to Ms Luther for the very informed opinion and commentary! I watched it in one sitting, but the timestamps for different sub-topics will be useful in case I'd like to re-watch some specific parts later. Good idea.
Few years late, but thank you for making these! Seriously awesome!
Nice. I enjoy commentaries/podcasts that actually give you some interesting insights beyond the games.
Huh. I played through Freedom Cry while never realizing that you can buy slaves instead of just butchering all the guards. No comment on using slaves as upgrade points?
PLEASE PLEASE!! More of these..This is goddamn great, I love hearing actual professionals opinions on these games!
Great to see you guys are still doing these videos! If I can make a recommendation, Ubisoft's Valiant Hearts, which recently came out, would be a great game to look at the history of WWI with, and it would be especially timely, considering we recently passed a full century since the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. And if you're interested in going back to Total War 2: Shogun to look at the standalone, Fall of The Samurai, which deals with the modernization of Japan and the Boshin War with Dr. John Harney, that could be cool too.

Thank you! I've been thinking about Valiant Hearts as well. I may have to do a solo episode for that so I can get it out in a timely fashion.
Great vid
terrific videos love learning more about the settings of some of my favourite games excellently put together looking forward for more
Heard the phrase "sort of" about 500 times in the first five minutes.
Hello! Loving the series. I liked the reading list at the end of the AC4 vid, noticed it wasn't in this vid and was wondering if that's something you'll still put in?

Yes, I'd like to. I'd forgotten it for the last couple of videos. Maybe I'll add it to the "about" section for the video.
No recommended readings for this episode but I'd throw in John Thornton's "Africa and Africans in the Making of the Atlantic World".
Thank you!
I love this show!
You should do all the assassin creed games as well as the wwii call of duty games and black ops 1 and maybe 2
Very interesting. I would really like to see a video about Paradox Games though, especially Crusader Kings 2.

Crusader Kings 2 is definitely in the cards. Thanks for watching!
You guys need any graphic design done for your channel/videos?

If only I had the money to pay for that type of work!

I'd be happy to do it pro-bono to support the show, I think it's a great idea.

James Crawford cool. what kind of stuff do you have in mind?
Assassin's Creed? Again? There's a lot more games with historical settings, you know.
