The shuttle was not discontinued because of the Giants leaving NY. It lasted until the Putnam Division of the NY Central was abandoned in 1958. The Putnam Division ended under the Sedgwick Ave Station and the shuttle was the way people continued their trips to NYC.

They could definitely bring the Three trains to the Bronx. All they have to do at 145 street five first cars stops and they could make it a elevated lines to run across 155 street birdge along side the roads make it concrete structures and go around the new Yankee stadium. Or they could dig a hole 🕳️ at 148 street tunnel and make a right curve and a right curve going out ground passing the polo grounds building 🏢 concrete structures to reconnect to the 4 Jerome Ave 4 line to 167 or Burnside. All they have to do is to seal the wall panels that they could use the special machines . They was definitely talking about extended the 3 trains to the Bronx. I have a real spriital feeling they are gonna bring back the Putnam railroad devisin I'm telling you. They have the new engineers could rebuild the ninth Ave Elevated line. All they have to do is to re do the train tracks and Thrid rails . The 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line is definitely not a problem rebuilding back. The ninth Ave Elevated line would definitely be difficult to rebuild because of the new Yankee stadium 🏟️ . They will definitely find another way for the Three trains to pass.

Update: i was able to get up on that tall rock structure and get in the abandoned station thanks to you. It took a couple tries to get up on that entrance where you got up on but i managed to get up and i had the best experience up here. Thanks alot

Thankfully, I got to walk through the tunnel in the early 90's from right under the Deegan to Jerome Ave. It will be an experience I will never forget. To the younger generations; Keep exploring!!!

They are definitely talking about extended the 3 trains to the Bronx to connect to the Jerome Ave 4 line to Burnside Avenue Elevated line Bronx. They are definitely gonna clean all that mess and lay the old tracks and the old Thrid rails. They will find another way for the 3 trains could go around the new Yankee stadium 🏟️.

This is becoming one of my favorite channels. One cool idea would be if you had a drone. You could get around those fake buildings that are just a wall and see what's on the other side. I dig how you add some history to this too.

Great vid. One comment. The tunnel between the Sedgwick Ave and the Jerome/Anderson Ave stations ran under W. 162 St. to Anderson Ave and continued under the apt. Building to the Anderson/ Jerome Station platform. I think the street with the hill in your video shows Anderson Ave where it connects with Jerome Ave, south of where the El. remnants are at what was W. 162 St. NYCT Website has photos of the inside of the tunnel where it had an emergency exit at Woodycrest Ave under W. 162 St just west of Anderson Ave. Pls post your response to my comments. I may be wrong.

I can’t thank you ENOUGH for the work you do not just here specifically - although I DO want to give you MUCH credit for this particular episode/journey, because it has SO much meaning to me now and you did the leg work and described it perfectly - but overall with all of your videos. Informative, FUN, really interesting and engaging, I enjoy them a lot. With respect to this particular video, I’m in my 60s now and I grew up in The Bronx and was a HUGE subway enthusiast as a kid and young adult, and I’ve had recurring dreams most of my life where a subway is running essentially right through a series of apartment buildings (weirdly, in my case, I imagined it through all the connected yards of my apartment building and the adjacent buildings), and I wasn’t sure if that was something I’d really experienced or observed myself. And now I know this was a real thing. I swore south of Tremont like the high 160s and Grand Concourse in the Bronx, that I was on an overpass that had tracks below it, and this WHOLE time I’ve been asking myself if it could really have been tracks running below apartment buildings and it very may well have BEEN. Thanks to your investigation and presentation of these awesome abandoned platform stations!

Dude I was looking for this very video. I grew up on Woodycrest Ave right off of McCombs Ave. As a kid, I stumbled onto that very tunnel and station in your video. On the 4 train going south there were tracks that went down and to the right which used to be the pole grounds. Thank God for you. People thought I was crazy years later
