History of Twinbrook (Paths #66)

The neighborhood of Twinbrook got it start post World War 2, when returning veterans were buying homes on the GI Bill. Historian Terry Lachine explains the history and describes the community that is still thriving today.

It still is, I've lived or had family in Twinbrook for 69 years, I still think it is a great place to raise children and have a family.❤

I am from Bethesda originally. I saw the video about the history of Rockville Pike. At one point, Rockville Pike was re-named Wisconsin Avenue from D.C. into Bethesda before becoming Rockville Pike. The highway number was U.S. 240, later to become Md. 355. When did these changes take place?

I’m sorry, but being a resident of Twinbrook since 1971… the library was still underneath the shopping center on the opposite side of where the library was built in 1976!
