I like listening to this when my mom and dad are arguing so I don't have to hear them yelling about a divorce. History is my favorite subject really good video!

Especially certain words, such as “insurrection”, referring to the struggle toward freedom from England; becoming independent. That word still makes me cringe, from the horrible events of only a year ago, used to describe an ugly, riotous event, with no reasonable explanation!

Ya can’t say ‘quote’ and the ‘end quote’ without saying who it is said or written by! This book does it a lot.

If you here the facts, with neither a left or right ear, it matters not how they fall into play.

Where are all the scout ranger ?
Well I guess this explains how he had gotten Hessian soldiers to come over and fight for England
All historians have an agenda. Charles and Mary Beard, the authors of this work, were Progressive intellectuals who had a Leftist view of American history. This does not mean that any of this is inaccurate or false. Just bear it in mind as you listen.

Edmund Burke is a sweetheart of the American right, yet he is, rightfully I think, presented in a positive light in this treatment. It all seems balanced to me.

Unfortunately most historians are emphatically left. Discovered this with zinn in college. It seemed odd at the time that you could take history, a matter of facts, and convey it in a manner that supports your view of the world. When it comes to history I actually do appreciate interpretation of the facts, but either present both opposing views or none at all. Giving only one side, right or left, is deceitful as it portrays opinion as historically factual

Wish I was a history teacher. First day of class I would make one student wear a military coat for 2 months then for a test ask one question. Who should be the leader of this new country's military. Lmao. I would do more but I would definitely do this.
