History of the Saints (October 2023)

This History of the Saints special presentation tells the story of the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith on June 27, 1844. Using documents and material from volume 15 of The Joseph Smith Papers project, historians share context about the events that led up to the day, and what happened in the aftermath. This brief look at history allows you to experience Joseph’s final theological sermon, his final devotional address to the Latter-day Saints and excerpts from the last heartfelt letters he wrote to his wife Emma before his death.

This is an incredible and miraculous concerning our dear prophet, Joseph Smith. He gave everything for restoring the gospel. I love Joseph! I look forward to throwing my arms around him!

In April 1841, Smith secretly wed Louisa Beaman, and during the next two-and-a-half years he secretly married or was sealed to about thirty or forty additional women.Ten of his plural wives were between the ages of fourteen and twenty; others were over fifty😅

All of those marriages were recorded post mortem. JS did not participate in plural marriage. He fought against it until he died. D&C 132 was forged by William Clayton and his leaders.

Wrong assumptions lead to wrong conclusions. This much I know as a faithful Latter-day Saint. The war that began in heaven when Lucifer and his angels rebelled against God (Revelation 12:7-9), rages on the earth to this day. It has always been the war between good and evil. Satan and his minions are using every trick in their book to shun people away from the truth. It’s sad that many are still struggling to know which side they are on. I am a faithful Latter-day Saint and I am on the side of those who believe/d that Joseph is a prophet of God in this the last dispensation of the fullness of times.

Would Joseph have smeared the credibility of Francis if he hadn't left the council "without permission?" Prophet or politician should know full well what kind of person each person serving with them, prior to, or thereafter is supposed to be from what they know. And why wait until after they leave with your secrets to "expose?"

Yeah. Why did Jesus Christ let Judas Iscariot serve with him until the night of his betrayal?

Yeah. They left out how Joseph Smith Jr. was still alive after falling from the window, and the mob propping him up against a well a shooting him firing squad method. And then later bragging about it in taverns, which led to charges being filed against them in the first place, to no justice. I mean avail. Oh and they left out Haun's Mill, where a press being used to print scriptures was destroyed, along with 17 men, women and children were murdered. And no one was convicted in that case.
