Tbh I'm curious on how they got their last name because Malfoy is the combination of "mal" meaning bad in french and foy is another spelling of foi which means "faith". And thus translates to "bad faith" which seems to imply a Malfoy was outed as a wizard in France and was executed and them and their family was given to the title. Making it their family name.

Not exactly. Draco in the books bullied more up until book 6, which is the same in the movies. Tom Felton just portrayed him as a more vulnerable/sympathetic person. Same with Alan Rickman making Snape look less ‘bad’

I have wondered the kind of services Armand, the founder of the Malfoy family in Britain offered William the conqueror. I soon recalled my history lessons on how King Harold died in the Battle of Hastings. A fluke arrow flew right into his eye though he adorned armor and a helmet. The shady and underhanded service that JK Rowling implied could have been that Armand enchanted an arrow and presented it to William of Normandy to strike Harold when an opportunity presented itself. It would be easy to tie this scenario with Armand and chime on why the Bayeux Tapestry depicting the battle of Hastings had the arrow in Harold’s eye later removed. To cover up the fact magic helped William of Normandy win the battle. That’s just my creative spin on the Malfoys’ family history.
