When Austrian President Franz Jonas visited the Vatican in 1971, Pope Paul VI named Austria “the Island of the Blessed.” He did so to emphasize Austria’s steep recovery. Only twenty-five years had passed since the end of the Second World War, and Austria was already one of the most prosperous European countries.

There are so many inaccuracies in this video that it probably can't be salvaged. It should be taken down. The anachronistic pictures and maps are the worst. For example, when talking about Margrave Leopold I of Babenberg (10th Century), a painting of painting of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I (17th Century) is shown.

I heard somewhere that Austria got its name from the Ostrogoths when it war part of the Ostrogothic Kingdom. There are some similarities between these names, although it's more likely due to both deriving their names from the word "Auster", which means sunrise or east (or more specifically dawn) in old high German. In fact "Austrogothi" just means Eastern Goths, while Austria was originally called 'marchia orientalis', which meant "Eastern March".

Austria is the latin version of the german name österreich , which litterally means eastern kingdom, because it was the eastern part of the frankish empire of Charlemagne

In Norse mythology, four dwarfs hold up the sky. The dwarf of the east is called Austri and there is a legend that the name comes from this dwarf. Austria is called Österreich in German, which literally means "Eastern Realm". In the Middle Ages, Austria was also known as the Ostmark (eastern bulwark) because it was tasked with defending the empire against enemies from the east, such as Hungarians, Slavs and Avars.

First: 6.06: You show the wrong Fredric II, its king Fredric of Preussen (Hohenzollern) who lived around 500 years later. No clock ringing when you talked about an emperor during the 1300 century but used a portrait of a man in full 18th century costume with powdered hair? That kind of portrait did not even exist until around 1500. Its the most cleancut 1800-portrait you could imagine. Second: 6.33: You show the wrong Rudolf II. Its not Rudolf of Schwaben which it should be. The one you show was an emperor of the holy roman empire and lived in Prague around 300 years later (also a Habsburg). Third: 5.52-7.03: Pictures of plenty of 16- and 17th century portraits and paintings. Fourth: 7.10-7.21: Motives from early 19 th century, guaranteed not a motif of any Habsburg history from 14th century. And: Austria is not a country without history!! What a strange notion!

I don’t know how to say this, and I can not understand at all how you could show a photo of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor (of the Habsburg house 1640 - 1705) while going on about Leopold I, Margrave of Austria (of the Babenberg house 940 - 994) There is 700 years of fashion evolution in between the two. How could his ridiculous outfit not give away the fact that you had the wrong guy!?
