History of Africa Ep. 20: Saint Kaleb, the Conqueror

Kaleb was never meant to be king. For his entire life, he wanted to live a scholarly and humble life as a monk. However, when his father died at a young age, he was forced onto the throne with only his trusted slave-turned-advisor, Abraha, to help him. Upon hearing news of brutal persecution of his fellow Christians in the Arabian Kingdom of Himyar, Kaleb leaps into action, assembling the largest army that Aksum had ever seen to finally conquer his Arabian enemy.

Abraha had 70.000 soldiers and Kaleb had just 30.000 soldiers for the Invasion. Abraha were more powerful as you all think!!!

Abraha wasn't a slave, the ethiopian degraded him bc he has Eritrean origin. He was from the Royal family of Mesfinto in Kebessa Hamasien (Agazian).

You have issues to resolve first hand before giving such an opinion. Abraha, where ever his origin is, can only be referred as Ethiopian King of the Axumite kingdom. You think Eritrea and Eritreans are entitled to historical events and figures from the time prior to ther so called 'independence'??? Man those glorious men and women, where ever they originated from and from which ever clan they were born doesn't matter at all. They were Ethiopians and made history to Ethiopia. You go and make your own history to Eritrea yourself.

@@biniammario3018 Man you cleary an Amhara. Eritreans and Ethiopian dont have the exact the same history. At time of Abraha their exist to different kingdoms Adulis & Axum. And btw Mr. I know everything better Abraham call himself King of Adulis & Axum. Why he mentioned both Kingdoms if they were one. The Problem with you Ethiopians especially you Amhara you wanna claiming everything to yours but in fact your History started first at 1200 with Yekuno Amlak the liar. Btw before Haile Selassie they were no Ethiopian everything called Abyssinia, so when it was a Abyssinian or Agazian King and not Ethiopian 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Now go cry Abraha was Eritrean he was born there and he called especially Adulis his home and not Axum 🤫🤫🤫

@@moreno8383 I agree with you, man the kingdom of Axum started in northern Ethiopia and so most of these tribes have no claim to the Axumite empire. I even believe that Eritreans have a better claim to it than most Ethiopians.
