The scariest thing is that all these “educated individuals” can legally vote. This is why horrible politicians keep getting elected.
@VictorMartinez-en8zr
Жыл бұрын
The reason why horrible politicians keep getting elected is because the government wants to dumb us down to control us, so that they can get what they want. Just like how Joe Biden won because of voting fraud. We also have people in the government that hate our country. How? Just like how the whole mainstream media is lying about Donald Trump being a bad president. He literally gave tons of jobs to people and lower taxes and gas prices. He also secured our border in Mexico to make sure that millions of illegal immigrants don't come in. That is how terrorists get in, and how Child sex trafficking happens. Donald Trump also made the capital of Israel, Jerusalem. He made peace between the U.S. and Afghanistan, and Israel and Palestine. If he was president right now, and not dumb sleeping old fart Joe Biden, the Russian-Ukrainian war would not be happening, and we would also not have a debt ceiling. We would also not have millions of Americans struggling to find jobs and pay taxes and rent. *What a horrible society and world we live in, right?* I would read and watch articles and videos from: The Epoch Times, The Conservative Tree House, The Gateway Pundit, and Just The News, to be more educated on what is really going on in the world.

As an American, don’t blame this stupidity on our education system. Everyone has access to the internet with a wealth of information unprecedented in human history. They just didn’t retain the information.

Isn't it still the falt of the system that people forget everything they've been taught after they passed the exam?) What's the point of that system then in the first place. I might not be the smartest person in history, considering I forgor the last russian emperor (Nikolas II) in the discussion, but I remembered his name thanks to my history teacher, who showed us a lot about the 1904-1905 war between russian empire and japan, especially about the fleet.

Tons of kids float through school after skipping class, failing and not putting any effort into their work. And when they grow up its no surprise they forgot what little they learned in school. And again, if they really wanted to learn they could even after graduation. They don't want to learn. @@FatherManus Khm... My grades are nearly perfect in all subjects, the only reason for me to skip classes is literal inability to walk there, I'm never late, lacking discipline in wearing school uniform - yes, but don't break other rules. At the same time, I will not answer probably any question about physics or chemistry, cause I took classes in them 2-3 years ago. You aren't taught to learn by yourself, you taught to learn by heart, use it on exam and then forget, cause you wouldn't need all that knowledge in adult life. I don't say: "Let's throw away all physics or history or something else", I say let's stop trying to fit everything in children's head by just learning by heart and then complain about them being unable to source their own materials or remember anything. The system made for industrial society doesn't fit the postindustrial one.
@touf2756

@@starsh1nachan252 i agree with your point of view, but the the major problem is that this isn't only in America but in other occidental countries. European students are forced to learn things they don't want to in class, and if they aren't made for the scholar system they're considered as bad students. This make the major part of them leaving school too early, and they're finishing to be as bad as the americans in this video (historically and geographically speaking). Thus, social media are a plague for younger students, it is like it drains their vital energy and they are starting to miss their classes more and more. I won't be surpised if in 10 years the linguistic level of students will be the same as in USA, or even worse.

As an American, do blame the system. Absolutely blame the system. We created this system specifically to solve the problem of general ignorance, and that system is failing. You know what this system could be doing? Teaching people on how to navigate through the internet, and how to do research, and foster curiosity and creativity. Or we could get rid of the system entirely, I guess, but that to me seems pretty counterproductive. The education system doesn't do a great job of educating people, we ought to change it to better fulfill its purpose.

Here is my attempt at connecting this events: In 1800 BC native Americans settle a Inca style civilization in the west coast. At around 220 BC Japan discover mexico and built the great wall of china to prevent Chinese invasions. Somewhere between 1800 BC and the 1400s the french conquer this west coast civilization. In 1472 with help from Germany the USA fight for independence with the condition of being now a German satellite state. In 1848 the Germans declare war to the Japanese Mexico (Which was allied to the recently founded Franco British Union) and lost, the south became Japanese and the North became a colony of the Franco British Union. Tired of being ruled by foreign nations the USA declares independence and wins to the Japanese and Franco British in 1865 getting all Japanese colonies and mainland Japan, the American built Mt Rushmore in Tokyo in 1925. Elizabeth II is born in 1929 in the Franco British Union and later becomes queen, the Queen declares war to the Americans because they were threatening Canada, The USA win ending the war of 1812 Which happened in the 1980s, the Franco British Union Separates. The Olympics are held in the London, UK just a decade after the separation from the French.

As an American college student with a history major who could not only get the dates right but talk about these topics in detail... This really, really hurts. I don't understand why people seem to despise the subject of history so much. It is easily the most interesting and mind-opening subject to learn, as you essentially learn about entirely different worlds across human history, from the Bronze Age world, to the Roman Republic, to the Biblical Era, to the Early, High, and Late Middle Ages, and finally to the Early Modern and then Modern period. Earth in all these times are entirely different from the one we now live, and that is absolutely the most fascinating thing about history to me. We humans are an interesting bunch, and always have been. But people don't seem to care about that, and it makes me mad.

I agree with everything you said here. After my best friend changed schools during Covid I am the only student I know in my school who genuinely likes history and isn’t just like “WOw cOOl PLaNes!”. Everyone else likes English, sciences (which I sorta get) and then most love MATH. Math is one of the few things in the world we’re I don’t really see why anyone likes it, math is ridiculously important throughout history and behind reading and writing is probably the most important thing you will learn in school but it’s just SO BORING!! Last year I asked the main math kid why he liked math so much and he said because it was SIMPLE, history is insanely complicated but because of how cool and interesting it is you can get through it but math is super complicated and boring, that kid left last year which wasn’t too bad for me considering I thought he was annoying but yeah rant over.

History can be summarized as many things but ultimately it's a study of cause and effect operating on our every day lives. That's why some people scoff or despise it, history as a subject is the best model to call out bullshit that has been done before. Then of course history shows that ethics and morality are constantly changing and that might piss off traditionalists to discover no matter what they do they'll always be further and further removed from the things they emulate. Many of the major terrors of the past were attempts to reestablish something that died for a good reason.

Angevin Empire was under the Kingdom of France so indeed both were the same country but for far longer than the just the Plantagenêt marrying Alienor of Aquitaine. England was part of the Kingdom of France that's why the hundred years war happened because the King of France had less land than the French Rulers of England and Aquitaine so they wanted to claim the entirety of France especially after the mad King of France. Until a teenage girl, Saint Jeanne d'Arc kicked the brits back to their swampy island and Burgundians into French rule.
