FUN FACT: You can tell that the portrait of the beautiful woman in 1875 is really from the Philippines because of her dress she’s wearing there. That’s the Philippines’ traditional attire for women during the Spanish colonial era called “Filipiniana”, some called “Baro’t Saya” (blouse and skirt). But hers more look expensive type of Filipiniana, probably she’s from a wealthy family.

Wait saya is a Spanish word or a Philippino/indigenous word ??? It’s crazy because I’m an indigenous North African Amazigh woman and in some of our dialects we call saya skirts too. I know that Moroccan words and to extent Arabized Moroccan words greatly shaped Spanish language like camisa which comes from kamees, one of our traditional clothing, so I would love to know if saya is also ours or if the Spanish gave it to us

It's like artistry and creativity/talent itself is disappearing from earth as AI puts us all to shame, and the govt puts us all to work. If one can just laser cut something instantly, who is going to spend their precious time being an artist, especially when an 80 hour work week is required to even just maintain our vital signs anymore? lol it's a sad state of affairs but I digress, this sculpture was amazing indeed!

Just give the compliment without trying to tear anyone else down. Is that really a hard concept for you dusti mayos understand? If it's not your thing, don't entertain it. There is always someone for everyone. Oh yeah, that's right, there are more men for women choose from than there are women for men to choose from. That's why you're mad. Moreover, I agree, women should not be altering themselves for the gays of a man. It's because you all would gas light a woman and tell her she's not good enough. When you all imply that they should alter themselves. In the first place, it's the forever moving goal post.

The lady in the photo you refer to is definitely of Filipino-Chinese descent, as written by the Dutch photographer who took her photo inside his Manila studio in 1875. The folded fan she's holding is a traditional Filipina ladies' accessory used not just to beat the tropical heat but also to send signals to suitors without violating the norms observed by their often prudish middle class Catholic parents. It's safe to exclude Sacagawea if we're to accept the year of the photo as 1875 (as per the Paris collection where it was found). Sacagawea would have been 63 y.o. by that time. In pre-botox days, it would be highly unlikely.

The 2nd photo is looks like one from a TV show on airplane disasters, probably "Seconds from Disaster" or "Mayday." Except it was a different window. One of the cockpit crew had to hang onto the captain's legs to keep him from getting sucked into the engines. They weren't expecting him to survive, but he did.

The Filipina woman looks very stunning! She's wearing a "Filipiniana Dress" which is a fashion trend for Filipinas during the Spanish Colonial Period. That Filipiniana dress now is called "MARIA CLARA" after the heroine of Jose Rizal's novel "Noli Me Tangere". The Filipiniana "Maria Clara" dress is compose of a Baro(Blouse) and a Saya(Skirt). The blouse is covered with a Pañuelo as a layer of protection for women, because at that time Bra's and other women's undergarments are still not invented. Therefore, that woman is indeed FILIPINA. Don't argue.
