I was so interested to see this... I have had so many American friends and family going on cruises leaving from Southampton! It's great to see all the sights around town to see what it's like! Very historic 👍 And yes, Ian would very vociferously agree with you about modern architecture, Rachel!

We usually watch you in our movie theatre, be put a night aside to watch our KZread friends but can't comment on from the television. My wife is madly in love with your channel and shared with a lot of her friends. We are planing a trip to Irland, never been there but should be an adventure. Hope all is well!!! Hi guys this was yet again fabulous big screen viewing (Monday night instead of Monday morning this time) What a great idea and helpful to all the cruise folk who have time to kill before boarding! Great idea for a series guys, and gives you even more excuse to book lots more cruises 🛳😀👍. We didn't know Southampton was a walled city either! Really interesting. Even if you did get distracted by Iona and lose the walls😂🙈. But you found them again, so all good! Who doesn't love a toilet gag, always a winner 🚽😂👌. We've seen a lot of vlogs that say it's grotty and not worth a visit, but we had a lovely morning, getting lost and everything. Yep, we were very excited to board! Blimey..Weird to see Southampton on your channel..haha!! I live not far from here in Portsmouth and have spent many a evening and day out in Soton so it was great to recap. They certainly have much more to do there with its various shopping outlets and of course it's old city rather than in Portsmouth, so it's always great to see. They have a fantastic German bar worth visiting btw (for next time or next cruise - head to Steingarten ) Excellent seeing the walls and the arcades, they are quite fascinating. Wow, Iona really looks epic behind you! I think it sounds a great idea about your pre cruise adventures, it will help out a lot of people and it was very interesting to watch! Enjoyed very much! Oh my! A bat! :o that is funny! Thank you Rach & Wills! x

I had forgotten Southampton had walls, quite extensive it seems. Perhaps I should visit. I know that there are quite a few gems of architecture, which I've seen driving through, so need to visit I think.

Awesome things to see and do. I'd possibly want to extend my stay over in Southhampton to do them all. What a fascinating city. My only view of it was from our ship the Flavia in January 1967. We never went ashore. Ah author Jane Austen - fond memories. Gosh you two what a fabulous insight into the what I termed as a 'harbour city'. It's much more than that. Have a great week. 👌🇳🇱🙋‍♀🥝

Hi Rach and Will ahhhh wall, walls and wall...that you said? hahaha Rach speaks quite tempo, so I had to watch it a couple of times about naughty walls. hahah Certainly old stone walls exposed...I do enjoy their history. ah..ha Mayflower that I am familiar with more than naughty walls. This film is very helpful to PPL who plan on cruise ship travel..Now they know how to kill their time till they embark. Your honesty with twist really made me chuckles. hahah I look forward to next episode. bravo!!! Sorry the US had Memorial Day and I was out of town filming. I missed some vids. Southampton looks quite interesting, no idea it had been a walled city. I was there years ago and we just used it for cheap accomodation as we went off elsewhere (not a cruise) I'm pretty sure we just drove to the accomodation and headed off the next day to explore other areas. It seems Southampton has more to offer!

Great guide Rach and Wills. Definitely don't want to try to fly in on your debarkation day. Always good to get in a day ahead just in case and you got to do something. Guess it was easier to build the houses into the wall. Why would the french want to steal the english wine... and why would the king do so much to protect it LoL If it was scotch we'd understand LoL. Thanks so much for this. We don’t really give Southhampton much of a thought when we’re embarking a cruise. We went to the Titanic museum once (bad idea?) which was ok… just ok. We were in there 15 mins max. We’re embarking in Southhampton in August and we’re wondering what else to do… now we know!
