This is kind of the vocal equivalent of Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar playing - thanks for doing this. He was doing Al Jarreau's version of Spain, a Chick Corea (keyboard jazz master) song - he added more to the scat section than Jarreau did. Jarreau is Mister Smooth and his voice comes closer to being an instrument than most I have heard, but Gary is fantastic here.
That is one of Chick's most famous instrumental. It's so sad that we lost him. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person when his band Return To Forever reunited. I got to meet all of them after the show. One of the greatest moments of my life. I would really like for you to react to Chick Corea & Hiromi Uehara performing "Spain" together on piano. I met him with the Elektirk Band. Met all of them. Saw Dave Weckl with the Brecker Brothers later.
