I live in an extremely remote area (La Sal, Utah) and have become basically house-bound. Needless to say, it can get lonely at times. However, your videos always make me feel better. Sometimes birthdays feel like a lot for anyone, even neurotypicals. I usually enjoy my birthday but there have been a few years where I just felt sad and overwhelmed and cried for hours. I guess it’s hard when there’s so much other change and movement happening in my life. Maybe there are a lot of thoughts and feelings in Nick’s head that he can’t yet verbalize. I hope you all have a great weekend ✌🏾And I feel you on the weather, I’m also in the Mid-Atlantic and winter refuses to die in my home too. Can’t wait for spring!

That what I was gonna tell his family! This must be it, cuz he's feeling lots of changing in him. He might be going through publicly and hormones are changing inside him that he can't talk about it. He must be getting lots of changing in him. I'm thinking same thing, maybe, hmmm 🤔

I just hate that Nicky was sad, it's so frustrating he can't tell you what's upsetting him. I love your boy's and always wish the very best for them. On another not.... John I to live for the summer. Hi John, I hear what your saying about Nicky having a little party and opening presents perhaps being what upset Nicky, my granddaughter who also has autisum gets disregulated and can get quite upset about change in her routine, even if others would consider it a happy change. As Sam suggested storyboards do go a long way in helping prepare her for something coming up, the event or change still idoesnt always go down well, but the reaction doesnt seem as great because she is more prepared for it , knows its coming.

When I was a child I used to cry myself to sleep after holidays with gifts. It was definitely not because of it being over, it was total anxiety over so many new things at once. I couldn’t sleep that night. I don’t know if that helps but I thought I would share. 🥰☀️

I have a thought… Maybe when Nick opened his presents He didn’t have time to process Everything at once And got very overwhelmed When everyone was cheering he might not have known why you were cheering and got upset because he wasn’t cheering He seems like he wants to do what everyone else is doing Emotions wise But doesn’t know how. Next time when he opens presents let him process the gift like he did with Sam and his gift He carried it around for awhile And was super happy Happy Birthday Nicky 🥳

It's really coming along.

Now that Nicky is learning how to identify different emotions , I wonder if when Nick is upset/mad you can make something as almost a routine. When Nicky gets mad or upset … he FaceTimes Sam, or talks to Johnny etc. when my Matthew and Zachary ( 16 and 17 YO) are mad , I’m the last person they want to talk to. Zachary generally calls his cousin who is his BFF and Mathew a friend!

Did Johnny not go through with the marines?
