these guys got me through cancer treatment and then I went on a three year depressive episode after my dad died, and just couldn’t listen to their music without hurting so deeply. This is the first time I’ve been able to listen to hippo campus since that day and it’s like I’ve found what was missing.

this song means everything to me. thank you guys. Jake Luppen saved my life with his solo LP last year. Lupin. it came out at the right time for me. hippo campus really is my brain. their music isn’t always about love and romance but about their life mental health love failure and every year they seem to dig me out of my near demise. they seem to release one song that just gets me out of where i am. or maybe not gets me out but helps me. “i’m the best at insane” is the most true line i’ve heard for my life. i won’t go into it but got damn i’m fucking crazy😪
