Hinderer Tri Way Pivot Help. Switching from Bearings to Phosphor Bronze or Teflon!
We have had a handful of customers who are new to Hinderer who have had questions about switching with the Hinderer Tri Way Pivot System. This video is about how to do it and how to make it work best for the washers you want to use. We hope this helps some of you who have had issues or questions. This is the most helpful video I’ve found. I’m 2 hours in owning a hinderer xm tri-way. Thank you !
It's also helps to disengage lock before checking for a blade play, since sometimes there will be no play with the lock being engaged but some movements with
Good video - I learned several things. Thanks -
Good video and thanks for taking the time todo it. I like the action and feel of the bearings and don't plan on switching out but never say never, really like the Eklipse 3" but hope Hinderer changes the 3.5" to the same style handle as the 3" great looking knife imo.
I run the Teflon on every hinderer. I use my knives In dusty dirty environments. They are all drop shutty not free falling but I can swing them shut with ease and stay buttery smooth with a wipe of the detent ball with a Q tip when I feel like it’s not so smooth. It’s so nice to not need to clean the pivot 2 times a week. All my knives are try way pivot system I know my xm-18 is a gen 6. The eklipse 3.5” I have is maybe a gen 3 with harpoon tanto blade wasn’t specified by shop I purchased from but was purchased when gen 3 harpoon tanto was released.
This is a great video although I’m not the one that needs help with this I think it’s excellent for those who do
That sheep’s foot is nice.
It absolutely does matter what side the bearings face

Which way?
Scott I noticed with the Teflon washers, on the lock side you put the steel spacer against the scale, but on the lock side you put the spacer against the blade and the Teflon washer against the scale. Is this just an oversight or is that how it needs to be done? Thanks.

USA Made Blade thanks for the clarification.
Benchmade blue lube!
I tried to switch to PB and it was horribly rough, but I've put PB in older Gen hinderer and it's been fine. I just don't think the Gen 6 was meant to ride PB

Mine always runs great! No blade play and a wiggle shut action. Try some lube?
No drop shut in Ohio law gravity knife and use phosphure bronze slightly greased to last and bearings stick when any dirt nylon ok but don't last.i got bronze to open good as new bearings with very little grease when broke in
Dummy you put the second teflon on the fals side
Man I’d love a hinderer really sucks I can’t afford them the bills are coming in fast This yr for reasons of medical problems and can’t even put money away maybe $20 a month I could put away torwards this knife that would take over a yr though it would be nice if they gave a few out to fans that would never be able to afford there beautiful knives but I doubt it.

Unfortunately, in today's society, everybody feels entitled to something for free! So if they gave you one .... Then everybody would have an excuse on why they need theirs!🤔🤪
