While by no means perfect, I hope you enjoy this wonderful music as much as I enjoyed playing it.

I love this tune! Back for more after a bunch of years. So well played. I like that it's a tube sonata with piano accompaniment as well as a piano sonata with tuba accompaniment.

I don't get why people say this song is good, can you please explain why it sounds good to you? To my ears it sounds dissonant and consistently out of balance, and the best parts are when only one of the parts is playing. I'm sure its just something to do with tastes, but I've been recommended this piece multiple times and I feel crazy.
I had to play it from memory.
Lovely interpretation of the cadenza!
Bravo! Fine interpretation. And compliments to your partner!
チューバでこんなに表現を、、、!!素晴らしいいいいいい!!!!!!
Why is the Tuba repertoire so small!! There should be 20 more sonatas by notable composers, especially with the 20th century style in mind

Agree. But, many notable composers in the 20th century composed solo works for tuba. Such composers include Vaughan Williams, Hindemith, Bozza, Arutiunian and Penderecki.

That's when you have to make your own pieces for tuba.

@@barretthoover2860 I have but then again, who cares about a no body, doesn't hold the same influence as if say Shostakovich made a tuba concerto or something

It used to bother me that other instrumentalist has solos that were memorable little tunes with standard froms whereas the tuba litreaturer was traffic-jamish.
👍
Am doing this for my Senior Recital. Any tips?

@@benjaminbeam5273 Yup. for my junior recital I took it to someone outside of the uni who knew the piece (to take pressure off of faculty pianists) and I paid upfront!
I have to play the piano part in one month so I need a lot of time to practice 😅.
Am I the only one hearing the climax to Close Encounters of the Third Kind?
Why do tuna soloists play the solo on an F tuna, but have a 6/4 CC or BBb tuba standing on the floor beside them?

Actually, he is playing with a C Tuba and in his case it's a B&S.
May I ask why there are two tubas?

I used both horns for the recital. I just left it on stage for ease is all.

He is probably playing other pieces that suit a different horn. I always notice famous guitar soloists changing instruments during concerts. (Sometimes they break strings or light them on fire too. 🤡)
would the Tuba folk be offended if I play this one on Bass Trom?
