Himalayan Lynx Filmed Hunting Markhor in Pakistan for First Time

Фильм және анимация

We’re very excited to share never before seen, intimate footage of the Himalayan lynx, captured on the steep rocky cliffs of Chitral Valley, Pakistan
While filming a group of markhor grazing in the Tooshi-Shasha Wildlife Conservancy recently, our field production team and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department spotted this lynx crouching in a camouflaged position behind a rock, about to begin a hunt. What followed was a dramatic scene few have ever witnessed - a lynx stalking and successfully killing a yearling markhor.
The Himalayan lynx is one of the most elusive and powerful cats living in these mountains, rivaled only by the famous snow leopard. As an apex predator, the lynx plays an essential role in maintaining the balance and health of this complex mountain ecosystem.
Follow along as we share multiple videos and photographs in the coming days of this powerful animal and get a glimpse of the life of some of Pakistan's most iconic species.

Never expected it to also live there, given that lynx prefer woodlands, from Scandinavia to Eastern Siberia. Must be an isolated population. Either way, normal visitors will hardly ever see them in the wild as they are very secretive.

Imagine, people could move in the sub-continent like ancient times. Indians could visit the beautiful valleys and mountains in Pakistan and Afghanistan, while Pakistanis could visit Himachal, Uttarakhand or Northeast India. Nature lovers and tourists from all the countries could seamlessly pass from one valley to other. Pakistan has one of the most beautiful portions of the Himalayan ecosystem, but unfortunately we would never be able to see it. Same with people living in Pakistan. What a beautiful cat the lynx is especially hunting on mountains of Pakistan. It's probably very rarely seen by humans as it's so camouflaged. Please can you do more documentaries on the snow leopard, and birds of prey in Pakistan, such as the eagles and falcons, and other wildlife in Pakistan.

FOR REVENUE TO COME TO PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT TO SPEND TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMY AND CONSERVATION IN THE LOCAL AREA 1. PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYS LOCAL PEOPLE FOR CONSERVATION. 2. LOCAL PEOPLE AS FOREST OFFICIALS AND VILLAGERS PLANT MILLIONS OF DIFFERENT TREES, FOR HERBIVORES. 3. INTRODUCE PREY HERBIVORES SUCH AS WILD GOATS, MARKHORS, GAZELLES, ANTELOPES, WILD HORSES, MONKEYS, RABBITS AND HARES, OTHER PREY ANIMALS. 4. BREED PREDATORS SUCH AS EAGLES, LYNXS, SNOW LEOPARDS, WOLVES, BEARS, OTHER PREDATORS. 5. AFTER FEW YEARS, WHEN PAKISTAN HAS MANY OF THE ABOVE THINGS, PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT SHOULD OPEN THE AREAS TO FOREIGN TOURISTS WHO WILL PAY MONEY TO SEE PAKISTAN'S WILDLIFE, THEN THAT REVENUE WILL BE PLOUGHED BACK IN THE AREA TO HELP THE LOCAL PEOPLE AND PRESERVE THEIR HABITAT.

Seriously a proud moment to be a Pakistani, i've just learnt recently right here watching from KZread, that Pakistan has native Leopards in Nathigali too, rare leopards, so i could now say proudly that Pakistan has Pakistani leopards, Pakistani snow leopards and Pakistani Lynx, so now we have 3 native cats in our country and now all we have to do is look after their population and increase them in the region and that will result into a great tourist attraction for the tourists.

@@nutmeg0144 Bro its much safer then how it was before, to be honest our army had done a great job killing all of the terrorists and destroyed all of their sanctuaries which were situated along the tribal belt in several operations in last 10 years that the parasites have no place now to go to and breed, you don't know but Pakistan has progressed so much in just last 8 years that so many tourists are coming here due to Visa on arrival policy before the Pandemic. The security has been upgraded by the army especially after the biggest heartbreaking incident happened in APS with the school kids and so Pakistan is very secure now as compare to how it was in early 2000s, you can go anywhere in Pakistan if your a white tourist, obviously in some areas of Quetta or Karachi or somewhere along the tribal belt would be quite dangerous but if you have security with you then your okay, but inshallah these areas will be safe to roam too in the future, Pakistan is on its way towards progression and development.

Same way how India also takes pride in their Bengal Tiger, which is fierce and dangerous and use it as a symbol of bravery as the Tiger is a Solitaire hunter and the Indians try to take those traits upon themselves.

Our wildlife is our pride just they way our country is.
