The reason Magnus is calm and has a low heart rate is he doesn't feel the famous Magnus Effect or hear the boss music in the background every time he plays.

Staying relaxed and controlling your anxiety and mood is such an extremely valuable skill in both chess and life. I want to meditate and start improving on it myself since it causes issues in my life. I have trouble with anxiety, and don't go to the doctors. In fact I haven't seen a doctor since my pediatrician. I do sometimes see a dentist, since I don't want my teeth falling out. I have trouble with social anxiety and all all anxiety. Curious if Magnus does any meditation or just naturally has good mind control. Even in chess, I have lost many games in time trouble because of panic, games I should have won.

Hikaru is fan of chess and like all us we dont want the GOAT leave chess. Even Hikaru want to win vs the best player of history (at this moment, is like playing vs Fisher, tc)

@@luciangv3252 I actually think he still needs a more years on top to be ahead of Kasparov, and Magnus has mentioned this numerous times as well. He said he needed 5 to 10 more years of longevity a year or two ago. I find it hard to believe he would retire as a very young guy and just give up on that goal. Just being the greatest in general. Anyone with a strong mindset would continue on anyway.

This tournament was on a course that used to be an old stone quarry in Central FL. If youve lived in florida all your life, the elevation at this place is absurd. It does not even feel like florida when you are there. Nobody on the disc golf side of things called this place in Brooksville, FL " The Florida Mountains". Im a florida native and I was as surprised as hikaru was when he said that.

The reference wasn't the Florida Mountains, just that it was "mountainous" meaning high elevation and heavily wooded for where the course is, in Brooksville Florida. Danny is accurate, close your eyes and you'd never guess it's FL. No one mentioned Paul McBeth actually owns the course with Dylan Cease.

I grew up in a town that is surrounded by 6 or 7 d-1 colleges so, when I was a sophomore-senior in high school, we would have these massive ultimate frisbee pickup games at a local park and this was in the late 00s-early 10s and frisbee golf had already been around for awhile back then

Love disc golf and chess - was a cool intersect of worlds :)

I actually have a buddy of mine that is currently a professional disc golfer and he’s doing pretty well for himself

Paul McBeth is the Paul Morphy of disc golf.

That's just not true. He's a great player and certainly one of the best but he's nowhere near as dominant as Morphy was for his time.

That's a form of a panic attack for sure. That said, it's no danger at all for even a somewhat healthy person with an average heart. Not much danger at all. That said, it would make most people uncomfortable, which can cause more anxiety and make it ever worse.

Lol true. Somethings just can't be compared. Or it's extremely weird when they are. That's like when someone asked me if I was better at Galaga or better at chess, and I'm real good at both, but had no idea how to answer that question. It just made me laugh. Galaga is a real old arcade game similar to space invaders. You just shoot the enemy and try to avoid being killed.
