Exceptional Engineering: The Plane Makers - A Hightech Aircraft on the Assembly Line | Engineering Documentary
The Airbus factory in Hamburg-Finkenwerder is one of the world's largest sites for modern aerospace construction and assembly. 365 days a year, over 16,000 workers and engineers design, produce and deliver industry leading aircraft, in cooperation with other sites throughout the European Union.
The backbone of Airbus logistics: Beluga, the cargo plane. 2,500 wing segments, cockpits and hulls are transported annually between the eleven airbus production sites located throughout the EU by the super reliable Belugas.

The logistics must be insane. I can’t imagine it. Like everything with flying, it all seems like a miracle. From building a plane so it flies safe to the actual airport logistics. Wow.

Many employees….. not just 4 people scratching their heads . They have hundreds of people, lawyers, engineers, technicians… everyone deals with a little bit of the whole production. It’s a big company.
Just when I think I’m running a million dollar business efficiently, I see this! Incredible teamwork and planning here. Always been a huge fan of Airbus over Boeing. From an outside perspective it just always seemed like they focused on their customer as Boeing was all about hype and profits. Just my observation.

What amazes me more after watching this video, is the fact that a bunch of crudely trained men and housewives could have built over 3,900 B-29s successfully during WWII without all the sophisticated technology of today. As a very young child. I remember them flying by the dozens over my hometown, a few miles from Wichita, KS.
@dirheist

Process engineers don't get the credit they deserve. Being able to break an extremely complex plane down into a series of steps that untrained men and housewives could do efficiently and cheaply takes so much work and it such an untrivial task that it makes my head explode just thinking about it.

Amazing!! I like how they show the whole process on putting an airplane together. The techs have a very important job making sure that those airplanes are built correctly and that it can safely fly.
As a passenger, the A380 is by far the most comfortable airliner I have ever flown on, and that oncludes coach, or economy class.

The size of the A380 is breathtaking! Wow!

This was just beautiful
Both Airbus and Boeing are fighting to get the big chunk out of the market share, but after the commercial failure of Airbus's best engineered aircraft 380, and engineering/manufacturing faults in 737 Max resulting in two crashes who will win this race that only time will tell but one thing is sure that, hopefully, consumers will get a better product, after all there is no room for the errors in aircraft manufacturing business.

I can't help but think that US manufacturers really need to step up their game to compete in the world marketplace.
I think Emirates must change their livery, because it doesn’t look beautiful and kind of outdated. Interior is also looks like in then90s especially wooden furniture. Qatar and Etihad compare to Emirates, have more interesting interior with very modern, stylish and luxury design.
