I'm not a fan of either club, but the refereeing in this game was absurd. serious mistakes, I hope Chelsea directors take action on this and uefa puts more qualified referees and takes women's football seriously, because this is not the first time I have seen referees do these absurd acts in women's football games

Not going to happen. Refs call the game. Not the coaches. Not the fans. Why? Because in every match, fouls aren't seen, aren't called. Everyone THINKS they want VAR but it suffers the same issues. If ref decisions upset you, this sport isn't for you. Btw... About 7 minutes into this match, Charles punches her defender in the stomach... She SHOULD have been red carded then and there.

Two disgraceful decisions have cost Chelsea the win, the foul was two yards outside the box for the penalty and the Chelsea player was two yards onside for what would have been a winner. Both decisions were appalling, and I'm no Chelsea fan either.

@@ermaus Sam is inches offside if anything, and I really don't think she affect the play or had any advantage by being offside. Offside rule was made to stop people hanging around the net and get clear advantages. It shouldn't be made to give losing teams a break they didn't deserve. Officials need to be more reasonable in judging if a tiny bit offside player affected the game at all. Because as it stands, the rule is often used to dirsupt the flow of the game, and leave audiences and players completely confused about why the team who just got scored on is getting a free pass for no reason. Football is turning into American handegg football with all these excessive stoppages and rules.

No. 21 (the player scored) was impossible to be offside as she was 5 yard away from the back line in onsite position when the ball was passed forward. No.20 did not touch the ball, nor was her positioning causing defenders any issue clearing the ball so no offside interference. By rules there should be no offside.

The foul was clearly outside the penalty area. As for the offside goal - the player who scored was clearly not offside, but the ref and assistant must have deemed that the forward who was in the offside position had interfered with play by challenging for the ball. Whether she did or not is debatable.

Watched bits and pieces of the match as I was working. Thought it was quite entertaining and really wish it was played at Bernabéu. Olga Comora was phenomenal, that goal was incredible. Thought Chelsea did really well going forward and caused Madrid a few problems.

Was the goal disallowed for Sam Kerr's obvious block on the RM player? Because the offside isn't even one of those where the player looks a mile offside because the defenders step out and they run forward. Niamh Charles got between the defenders perfectly.

Absolute disgrace. UEFA must evaluate referees and take steps to introduce VAR in games of this level. NO Penalty and Not offside. The referee needs to take ownership of those decisions and make apologies. Chelsea should make a formal complaint.
