I like the Ajax shirt from the ladies with the ABN-Amro advertisement. Reminds me of the 80s/90s Ajax shirt. The Ajax most successful period.

Not quite, Ajax won the European Cup (before it was called Champions League) three times in a row between 1971-73, guided by a certain Johan Cruyff. But the ABN AMRO sponsor is definitely iconic but sadly it'll probably not return on the men's shirt again as some other sponsor will probably throw millions more at them to have their name on it when the contract with Ziggo runs out.

ABN-Amro became sponsor in 1992 if im not mistaken.....but i agree, i like the shirt as well.

Saw the score as I was watching the Real v Chelsea game. Nice attendance too, hopefully it will grow. Playing the Champions League at home goes some way to repair the damage the club did over the summer towards the women’s first team.

The referee really fell for every single scream by the PSG players, De Almeida required medical assistance twice in the final 5 minutes and then got straight back up again. Embarrassing.

That kind of thing is hardly unique to PSG. Every team employs these tactics when necessary. It's a really cynical part of the game. Most fans would probably like to see referees clamp down on time-wasting, but it never seems to happen. Ajax would likely have done the same thing if the scoreline had been reversed in the final minutes of the match.

@@fjvr17 That's different. Not many will go out in freezing weather on a Tuesday night or something for some women's game. Unless they get to the quarters or semis they might get those numbers for a CL game.

That ball seemed very much over the line, I'd say that should've been a goal for PSG. For all the hype and getting Ajax women's to play in a massive stadium that will NEVER be full for a women's game, it's pathetic it doesn't have VAR. Thought this was a high stakes competition. UEFA trying to be woke and still failing.

It's the lack of speed, strenght and control that female players have that keep me from watching many games. I just don't find it very exciting to watch. But women's football has made lots of progress in the last decade. Also, you need an impressive, mostly male, audience to create a great atmosphere to enjoy a fantastic match. Not just screaming women.
