@@manuelbrun6882 Let me translate: Everyone is saying here that Swiss hockey has come far. Have they really, though? Are you telling me you are beating any of the below with their best squads available: -CAN, USA, SWE, FIN, RU, CZE Switzerland would only stand a chance against CZE, and that chance is not very high either. If you add Faksa, Hronek, Jiricek, Kulich, Vrana, Chytil, and Hertl to their current squad, that significantly lowers your chances. If Switzerland can pull at least a 1/2 final at best-on-best tournament, without it being some kind of utter luck, then we can really say that Switzerland has come far. Not when Canada, USA, Finland are playing with their C teams, Russia doesn't even participate, and Sweden is about the only team that has a good roster at this World Cup.

@@jm8585 I think you are just really misunderstanding the wording... it has come far from where it was 10 years ago. you need to put it into relation mate. NO ONE was talking about Switzerland winning like easy vs Sweden or Canada or whatever. all of these nations you mentioned already had great players in the NHL years and years ago. and they were not just nobodys. like Jagr for CZE... where were Swiss players at this time? oh right, they didn't really exist in the NHL. you know now what we are all talkin about? it was just few years ago, when Josi joined the NHL as one of the first true star-like player. before there were just few Goaltenders, and maybe Mark Streit (if you know him). no big deal. but since Josi, look what they achieved. and look also what roles these players have in the NHL. and then put that in relation also to Switzerland's population. nothing more to say.. you should just understand properly, what the topic is about.

the granlund situation is pretty gross from the refs and iihf for penalising him further. First theres a questionable hit bordering on boarding with no whistle, okay fine that was just questionable. But then you have the most obvious interference in hockey history with swiss 11 bashing finns 81 to the ice a mile away from the puck, how the fuck is that not a whistle!?!? Then the dude emboldened by realising the refs dont whistle shit if the swiss do it, goes for a fuckin punch to the face on granlund. You literally see his fist connect with granlunds face just before granlunds stick hits him. And STILL nothing for the swiss. Yea the cross check was wrong, but it doesnt negate the swiss player going for a fuckin punch to the face so where was his penalty? Not to mention it wouldve never had a chance to have happened if the refs actually whistled when the swiss blatantly broke the rules earlier. A stick accidentally going too high while flinching from getting punched in the face is not suspention worthy, getting sent to the showers maybe, but absolutely not an extra game suspention.

Whiners can whine : after all it is the real world championships title, so if some country is too lazy or can't create a good team without some celebrity players from NHL, its their shame. I can only think its funny how other countries whine how they didn't get their superstars there while Finland wins world championships with unknown players from their own league. They beat Canada in the 2019 final with a team basically gathered from the Finnish league.

That’s funny that the best forward (and maybe player) of Switzerland isn’t even Swiss🇨🇭, but Czech 🇨🇿 😂 (I’m from Sweden)

You know what's funny? That none of Sweden's players stand with points in front of Fiala, even if he played only 5 games and Sweden still won all of them.. Crazy; huh? 🤔

Wait! How come Fialla was even allowed in this game?? Last game, he pulled a patented Brad Marchand knee-on-knee and should have been suspended for the rest of the tournament. Compare that to canada's suspension. Overlord Bettman is watching. Follow the $$$.

Fialas Foul was never a reason to suspend him from the whole tournament. 5 + game duration was harsh enough. No intention to hurt the other player at all. Sure swiss hockey organisation has more money that the canadians where hockey is like the holy grale. Are u even listening to the bs your talking??

    1. Finland is the 2nd in the IIHF-rankings (Canada is the 1st) 2. Out of 20 best Finnish NHL-players, Finland got only Granlund which is not even on top of the list. Swiss got almost their an olympic team but Granlund would be the only one to fit in Finland's Olympic team.
