This is mind blowing. From 6-1 down to Canada.. 6-6 with five unanswered in the third. Two days later they turn around Finland from 0-2, even with a disallowed goal.. scoring in the last second. I mean.. Hats down to that brave Austrian team, the best story of the tournament so far by a long way! Proper Legends, who are going down in history big time! Congrats from Bulgaria!

To be fair, the Austrians scored on a powerplay that shouldn't have been called earlier, if i recall correctly. Can't blame the Swiss for taking the opportunity to score a game winner, but yes, in an ideal refereeing-world that game looks different...

Ich war in Linz beim Spiel AT - CZ - bei denn Angreifern ist es halt eine fast neue Mannschaft als in Linz! Einzig Baumgartner war damals dabei - hatte verkorkste Saison in Bern. Mir kommt vor die Österreicher spielen jetzt wie die CZ ihm 2 Abschnittl in Linz schnell und direkt! Denke wir werden mit der neuen Generation noch viel freute haben. Einige dieser sind ja gar nicht dabei.

Das österreichische Team liefert heuer mehr als einmal einen super Fight. Gratulation aus Deutschland.

Austria has such a big and devoted fanbase, they deserve epic wins like this. Years ago I was in Holland for the world cup for B countries and Austria brought hundreds of fans to see them get promoted and they were jumping and singing all game.

Austria, what the hell? Well played! You got 1 point for losing against Canada in OT and another 3 points for beating Finland. These 4 points you got were uber hard to get!

Sad to see finland losing (from a swede), but austria has been playing extremely good this year. Congrats!

@torheim75 well I hope that we (Austria) play that well again against NOR and GBR. In the past years when AT attended to the championship, they sometimes mess such games up. But I think (and hope) that this year will be another story. We are playing insanly GREAT! 🙂and fight till the end, no matter what the scoreboard says. What a thriller it was yesterday.

Fantastic game by Austria what impressed me the most is the consistancy its not often in the world championship were the lesser teams are able to steal points from two top 6 teams like Finland and Canada back to back also it wasnt like the Austrians were outshot and totally dominated it was a close game in shots and play. Who knows they ,might have a shot at a quarter final berth time will show.

ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! I bet 200 SEK when they were down 2-0 so I won 6300 SEK. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHO!

@junka22, for us Finns this ending was naturally depressing, but think, if this would have been a quarter-final. If we ever lose to Austria, Denmark, Poland or Norway, it is better to do it in the round-robin and not later.

@@bobitime1871 It wasn't many years ago, it was on 23 May 2019 in Košice, Slovakia, it wasn't semifinal, it was quarterfinal, and the time remaining wasn't 0.2 seconds, it was 0.4. Other than that, it's absolutely correct 😁 It made me sad as well because Switzerland would have been definitely more playable in the semifinal. Canada is our (CZE) semifinal nemesis it the last years, we lost to them 0:2 in 2015, 1:5 in 2019 and 1:6 in 2022.
