Norway beat Canada last year and Canada won the tournament. The days of beating the crap out of most countries are over.

That is good. Who wants to watch a 9 to nothing game. This was much better. Even though Norway didn't get any shots in the first two periods, they actually had chances, but didn't hit the net and they kept the game close.

Kaiden Guhle's stock is really going up in this tourney! Nico Daws almost pulled off the save of the decade on Norway's goal. Poor guy ended up with a 0.833 SV% on 6 shots. lol Henrik Haukeland was definitely the busiest player in the game making 29 of 32 saves with a 0.906 SV%! He certainly kept the game from getting out of hand for Norway. It's really nice to see much more parity in the world stage these days. The same 4 teams every year isn't much of an interest for newer fans I'm sure. Go CANADA!

Canada often doesn't impress that much in the group stages, there is documented history of this over the last number of years. I remember they opened the tournament 0-3 a couple years ago, losing to teams like Latvia and Germany, barely scarping by Kazakhstan, finishing 4th in the group..then what, Canada becomes the first to ever start 0-3 and win the gold.

The only winners in this tournament are the members of Opus for the royalty payment they’ll get for the bazillion times they play the ever annoying “Live is Life” song.

6 shots on goal for Norway…and they still gave up a goal. What happened to the country that produced goalies like Price, Brodeur, Roy and so many others?!?

The honest answer to your question is lack of development. For the past couple of decades Jr hockey has been importing a lot of European kids to come play. Unlike every other position, there are only so many slots available for young goalies. Which leads to many young Canadian goalies never getting a chance to develop. Unfortunately.

So if i have this stat right...Norway had a team shooting percentage of 33per cent? And they still got thumped?? What world do we live in as hockey fans that this can happen?

Holy smokes we Norwegians played like dogshite today, I belive there is more potensial in that team. To be fair not bad physically, the lads fight and works well defensivly, Haukeland playes a very good match today, and the result it self isn't bad. However we kept missing our shots, we cannot hit goal. 33-6 in shot stats oh dear, I don't know if I should laugh or cry 😂😂

If Dallas and Carolina weren’t still in the playoffs Norway would be a lot better

Our goaltending is weak, even though daws looked good. It was a complete defensive error on canadas part 2 on 1’s are never a guaranteed save

Awful embarrassing game by Norway and the canadians werent impressive either , but Norway was in coma for 40 minutes before waking up , but too little to late. 6shots is beyond pathetic. Atleast we are decent at pk;;;).

​@red3here sure Canada won , but not in a convincing fashion let's not forget that the 3rd goal was shorthanded a giveaway when Norway had a great chance to tie on pp. To me Canada in this tournament has been disappointing vs the smallest teams like Norway , austria , Denmark and GB they do only what's needed and not more. I was quite frankly expecting Canada to play like a wounded animal firing on all cylinders vs Norway I didn't see that the pp looked toothless obviously thanks to Norways hard working pk unit. Canada seriously needs to step it up.

Is funny how Europeans live to watch Canada loose at every freakin games! No joke and yet they dream of making money in the NHL league! Such hypocrites. If Canada loose is because we have a crappy coach for starter. He is Connor Bedard’s #1 enemy. The kid was on a scoring streaks after the first two games and the moment he scored one more goal in the third game against Austria this freakin coach reduced Bedard’s minutes another word he benched Bedard in the following game such as this one and the game following! With that said I am hoping Canada loose this tournament!

Looking at how Cda performs against very weak teams, Cda has very deep problems, Sure, Cda has a few players with great potential, but this is a team sport, and this team is woeful. The U18 squad would be better. Cda defence and goal tending is like a Swiss cheese; soft and full of holes. and, these are NHL players? shameful.
