Craig H my dream is to watch a ashes match in the stadium
Try to explain how good it is to watch 2 men block out to get a draw to anyone who doenst like cricket and they will think you are mad - this was one of the best finishes in any test match - great stuff.

True.. they escaped due to the weather there. Lost about a day. Add another 30 minutes and we'd have likely won the match.

@@ollieheath 198 for a 10th wicket stand. And he's up to 89 Not Outs in tests. 28 more than 2nd place Courtney Walsh.
Getting the updates on the last day via Sky Sports News was absolute torture on the final session of this test. The torture became even more unbearable when Collingwood got out after a stand of 70 odd after 4 hours or so. The release of joy and relief when Anderson and Panesar batted to the end was hard to describe as we escaped Cardiff with a draw. This in my opinion set England up for the series and gave a massive boost to the confidence, which I don't think we'd have had if either Jimmy or Monty fell in those final few overs. Just pure sporting theatre of the highest quality
Great batting by Anderson and Panesar, shame 13 Aussies don't agree

If they had got out before they went over Australia's score they would have lost. If they had got out just after they went over Australia's score the openers would have came out in 20/20 mode and score runs like they were playing a super over.

+Tyrion Lannister Tyron it was about how much time was left. When Monty came in as last man England were still behind and facing an innings defeat. Once we got our noses in front Australia had to bat again BUT two overs are lost when the teams change over.. This meant that Panesar and Anderson only needed to survive until 6.40 pm once we were in front to prevent an innings change. That last ten minutes or so when they were the last pair and we were level then slowly inched ahead to lead by 12 were completely enthralling.
What is the first song called please?

Because England were going to lose that way. England would never have run with the run total. So they had to just wait it out for a draw.
